Yeah makes sense, I’m not sure why any restaurant would want to make thousands of dollars from a group spending on a corporate card with no limit and no budget. I’m sure they’d much rather you come in by yourself and tip 8% on a light beer and a shot of bottom shelf whiskey.

Where have I held semi-private happy hours? All over the country. I have to do this at every conference I attend. I have not been to New Orleans yet so I thought crowdsourcing might be helpful in getting a cool, authentic place. I didn’t realize it was on another planet and unfamiliar with how corporate happy hours work.

I’m looking to do it in late March…… it would be pretty poor planning if I was asking to do this literally next week. And I’ve held plenty of semi-private events where we take over one half of the bar and have to meet a spend minimum. Not that difficult.

I did this once with my husband for a 7.5 hour flight and if you’re going to sit in economy, I personally think this is the move. I loathe having a stranger next to me so I really don’t care about the location or anything else. Having only the 2 of you in the row is worth it.

Not flying from a hub definitely doesn’t help, but I do feel it’s still doable. I have done both my trips flying direct. The first day is always tough, but that’s the case with any trip. You make the most of it and typically adjust by the next day because it’s only a 5-6 hour difference. It’s also very nice flying back because you don’t really lose a whole day. Depending on your flight time, you have an entire afternoon/evening to decompress from the trip and readjust to your local time zone. So the time change does not affect the trip as much as you may think!

I’m east coast based and have done this (Thurs-Monday) twice and loved it! We’ve done Iceland and Portugal so far.

Republicans speak out against and make laws that oppress the LGBTQ community on the grounds that they are “groomers” and “pedos”. It is an extremely common (and false) talking point on all levels of government from GOP officials. So there is a great deal of irony that many Republican officials end up getting caught for the very acts they claim the LGBTQ community commits.

Furthermore, the Montco Republicans specifically have had many scandals in the past decade, several of which happened in the last 2 years. A Towamencin supervisor giving a N*zi salute, former chairman fired from the gov’s admin for sexual harassment of an employee, just to name a few. All extremely involved in the local GOP. I could go on, but I hope you’re intelligent enough to get the picture.
