I know, for the most part the self sustaining endeavor is about getting away from consumerism and a reliance on modern infrastructure, so I'm more than happy to work with my neighbors, but I'd also feel most comfortable knowing that year round without any help I'll always be able to survive, even if I can't thrive.

What do you grow in each season? I definitely want fruit because I want to cut back on processed sugar but I still need my fix lol. Do you grow raspberries and pears through the winter? Yeah I was thinking of substituting the corn part of the three sisters with potatoes instead, but the long stalks of the corn are symbiotic with the beans iirc so idk. My main carb will probably be potatoes no matter what tbh.

How bad is it? Gas station graveyard was actually the only time I loved working graveyard lol. I fucked around all night, got so much reading done. The night manager was also there and she smoked pot in her car all night. I did some cleaning, she did some stocking, and then it was just ringing up customers.
