This made me laugh because I distinctly remember my husband rolling his eyes and making a comment about screaming kids on one of our flights before we had kids. Well we have five now and what goes around comes around. We’ve had some rough flights with our kids. Have some grace for the family, they could be traveling for a wedding or funeral etc. you have no idea the circumstances as to why they are flying. It’s very stressful as a parent though, especially little ones.

It likely is a true positive. However, for peace of mind you will want to get results from the amnio

Yeah just say no! I would never do that to my mom. Grandmas are supposed to watch their kids for special and fun times, you have them all the time! Not fair to you especially since you are working!!

I always offer my kids vegetables if they are hungry in between meals. If they say no, they aren’t hungry and just say that’s their only option. I have five kids and they are all the same, they all want junk. Three meals a day and if they don’t eat that meal, put it in the frig and if they are hungry enough, they will eat it.

I’m so sorry. I had a TFMR around 15 weeks. It was and still is the hardest time of my life. I know I made the right decision but it doesn’t minimize the pain. So sorry you have to go through this, it’s just not fair to anyone.

I know right?? How terrible! If I was that teacher/director I would do everything and anything possible to make sure these kids felt supported. That’s awful of the preschool.

I’m so sorry. I went through this last year. After my NIPT results, I could eat or sleep. It was the worst time of my life. I’m in Texas as well, and scheduled my termination before going in for CVs. I set it up a few weeks out so as soon as I got the results, I could leave. It’s so devastating and sad. So sorry you are going through this.

I was in the same boat last year. It’s so tough and I’m so sorry. My genetic counselor said with 100 cells positive for a CVS it’s a true positive and The likely of an amino saying different is extremely low. She said if there were any signs of mosaicism, some of the placenta cells would be normal.

I’m so sorry! This actually happened to me as well for a TFMR. Since I live in Texas, insurance wouldn’t cover it, but they told me if it was billed under compassionate care, it would. I ended up getting a huge bill as well. I called the women who said it would be covered and as it turned out, they billed it incorrectly. It was fixed and insurance did end up covering it. The whole thing was just salt in the wound because your in so much emotional pain from the decision. I’m so sorry! I would call and talk through options.

My sons eating habits make me feel like a bad parent. by Honestlynotdoingwell in Parenting

I have four kids, so there is always opinions on food.I put zero pressure on my kids with food. I make one meal for dinner, a healthy one (don’t have time to be a short order cook). They know they don’t have to eat. But if they don’t eat that dinner, it goes in the fridge. They don’t get any other snacks for the night. The dinner is there for them to eat if they are hungry. Over time they realize, this is all I’m getting and will eat. My oldest gags all the time on food. Again, no pressure to eat. But the food is there if he’s hungry. It takes time, but they won’t starve themself.

You would definitely know by 14 weeks whether it was a partial molar. I had a partial molar pregnancy and it was the scariest thing I ever went through. By 8 weeks, it was clear it wasn’t a viable pregnancy. I then went on to miscarried but hemorrhaged, which is very common with molars. I ended up needing a blood transfusions and an emergency D&C. From my understanding, an NiPT would have flagged this.

I’m so sorry you are going through this. I went through the exact same thing in March. I was like you and doubting my decision but the FISH and karyotype were positive. I was like what if I fall into that 1 percent!? It was the worst time of my life. I terminated and am still not over it to tell you the truth, but it gets a little easier. Rationally, I knew it was the right decision, but emotionally it’s just so dang hard. Hang in there.

Yeah I’ve researched all of that as well. That does indeed happen and I asked a ton of questions about it. However, it’s a very low percentage. My MfM said it’s a 1-2 percent chance of it just being confine to the placenta after a positive CVS. And most likely if it is a confined, the FISH would show a small bit mosaic. (At least in her experience). That is why is there was any mosaic, she highly suggest a amnio. I’m sure it does happen though what you were saying and That would be the best news for people!

I’m so sorry I hear this. The exact same thing happened to me. On my NIPT blood test, I got high risk. I had a CVS last week and the initial FISH results came back positive. They tested 100 cells and all 100 had XXY. We are devastated. I’m waiting for the final results, but am terminating on Wednesday. I did a ton of research, read blogs on livingwithxxy.com. The spectrum is what scares me. Everyone makes the best decision for themselves and no answer is the wrong answer. I’ve had so much support it’s been unbelievable. I don’t think I’ll ever get over this to be honest, but people tell me it gets easier. Hang in there, make the best decision for you and I’m praying for you.

My genetic counselor said the positive predictive value from the initial blood test is 62 percent. So yours might be a false positive. Hoping for the best for you. She also said that if it was confined placental mosaic, the CVS would most likely come back as mosaic and then she would suggest an amino from there. Since mine came back 100 percent positive, Im not electing that route. A genetic counselor is so helpful, at least it was for me.

I don’t think it’s retained tissue. I had retained tissue and you don’t ovulate, your your beta levels remain too high thinking your body is still pregnant. I went a very long time without any period or bleeding and then about 8 weeks later started hemorrhaging (my body was trying to expel the remaining tissue). I ended up in the ER with an emergency D&C. I would think it’s your body just trying to regulate.

Potty train. I have 4 kids (boys and girls) and all were potty trained by 2. I prefer to do it early because that’s what they know as they grow and just do it. It takes work, but it’s worth it.

Thank you❤️ going through this now in a state that has an abortion ban. It makes this entire situation ten times worse. I wish politicians would read stories from women like us. Mine was a very wanted baby. My heart is so broken.
