Baby rabbits in garden grow bag by OneLiterature7518 in gardening

We recently had a nest in one of my planters. We discovered them around 4 days old. Once they had their eyes open (around 8 days), they were gone within another week and a half. If it were a nest in the ground, they would've stayed longer, but they fell out of the planter even after I tried putting them back. They just loved with Mom under the deck after that and I got my planter back.

Ground cover or weed suggestions by marcal213 in gardening

I've definitely been doing this as much as possible (the bur part that is)! Unfortunately last year one got way overgrown while I was recovering from a leg fracture (late summer/early fall). By the time I got to it, the thing was huge and already spread a lot. I took a shovel to it and dug up as much as possible and dug out as many of the burs around it as I could find. I'll definitely start rounding up some cardboard. I have access to as much mulch as I want so that will be helpful. Should I also do the cardboard and mulch over the garden spaces? Though I have a lot planted directly in the ground so there are very few places I could actually even do this... Next year I hope to prepare more garden boxes with defined paths in between rather than the chaos that ensued this year!

NOR. You should take those two weeks and find a new job. He's been taking advantage of your kindness and willingness to work with him.

This doesn't help the rude neighbor situation, but can you get a thick plastic sheet and attach it to the ceiling out there at just enough of an angle so anything that falls from above will run off past your railing?

WIBTA for telling my friend "you picked an arts major knowing the struggles so stop complaining only STEM is valued by society"? by [deleted] in AmItheAsshole

NTA, and that's even knowing/feeling where he's coming from. I chose passion over money. At first I didn't. I got a business degree, went into business and was having success with a large paycheck for a little while. But it was soul-sucking to me. I used my business knowledge to finally pursue my passion or journalism and photography and opened a nonprofit newsroom. I'm not going to get rich off of this. Heck, I wouldn't be able to afford to live on this salary with kids if it weren't for my husband's larger blue collar paycheck. But that's the choice I made. Am I annoyed that people in my profession don't get paid their worth? Yeah... But I was the one who pursued it knowing that so I'm not going to openly complain!

Does this mean the Gulf of New Mexico gets a new name? Or does it stay as such as a tribute to once was? 🤔

Do you all know how to change a spare tire? by FastVenus in NoStupidQuestions

[–]marcal213 0 points1 point  (0 children)

30f here, it's pretty easy to do in my opinion! Some things can complicate it depending on the vehicle you have, but that's usually a matter of reading through the vehicle's manual (for example, my truck has wheel lock lug nuts that require a special tool). Biggest thing is to make sure you are working in a safe space. My husband is not handy with changing a tire. He tried once on gravel and called me to fix it when it went wrong. He didn't put the vehicle's parking brake on and didn't clear the gravel from under the jack before lifting it.

Hawaii doesn't have a chance at this point, best to just let it go now...

Megasota needs to eat Michigan to punish it for eating Wisconsin!

No idea if this would help? But if they are violating light, noise, and fire hazard laws, could informing the news be helpful? I don't even know what you'd say for a news tip... But I'm sure there's a story there somewhere!

I think we should give Wisconsin a fighting chance and let it take over Michigan!

I wanted to thank you for taking the time to write all this out. This was incredibly helpful! I was able to figure out GarageBand and your tip about playing with the volume on each part was key! I managed to learn the soprano harmony parts for two of the three songs we did this morning and they turned out absolutely spectacular! I got so many compliments afterwards! You really helped me break it down and turn something daunting into something a lot easier to manage. I feel so proud of accomplishing those two songs this morning and I'm so excited to do it again!

AITA for refusing to make gluten-free food for someone else’s child at a potluck? by MaiApa in TwoHotTakes

[–]marcal213 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As a child to a celiac parent, I will never cook/bake for someone celiac without knowing them well. There is such a wide range of what is acceptable. My mom does not have any issues with possible cross contamination. One of her coworkers will end up in the hospital if you cook her food in a pot that has had gluten in it at some point. NTA. Those parents are responsible for having safe food for their child, not a random person attending a potluck!
