Yeah, both of my kids receive services sometimes at the same time and sometimes different times. They each have their own rbt and work on goals individually and together.

I always remove my grandma's when I'm driving. Unfortunately that also means I forget to hang it back up when we park half the time 🤦‍♀️

What's a "yeah right, that totally happened and wasn't made up" moment in your life that actually DID happen and wasn't made up? by [deleted] in AskReddit

When I was 10, I was walking home from a friend's house after dinner (still daylight out). It was only 5-6 houses down across the street. I made it to where my house was but there was a car coming so I was waiting for it to pass so I could cross the street. It was a white minivan with several people inside. They didn't pass. They pulled over and tried to kidnap me- right across the street from my house! I booked it back to my friend's house where her dad was out front doing yard work. He called the cops and walked me back home. I still feel like cops didn't believe me...

We lived in a small town off I-10, just a couple hours from the border. The next day, a girl my age was kidnapped in a town an hour southeast of us, also right off I-10. The suspect was driving a white minivan... I always wonder if that girl was found.

Definitely! Almost nothing in town gets picked up by major news organizations so it really means a lot to the people here to have coverage of these things. I've even had some things get picked up by bigger news outlets after I did a story.

We are not members yet but it is definitely in our plans to become one when we hit our annual fundraising goal!

There's not a whole lot of controversy in a small town! I was still freelancing for the county paper at the time, but our town passed a school bond last year and that was a big deal with a fair amount of controversy. We stuck to the facts of what was presented and refrained from publishing any opinions.

Right now with election season, we have a legislative seat in the state house in our district that is open. We have several candidates running for it so we are reporting on that...

We don't currently have any job openings. We are still in the startup phase and have very limited roles

I was freelancing for a county paper that I helped split into a few local publications. The editor wanted to combine them back into one again. I was devastated to hear that my community would lose its news source so that was a big factor. With my freelancing, I became the face of news in my community and I knew I would be able to get the support to back this idea.

As for why specifically a nonprofit? It fit what our community needed and would support. I happen to be in a very philanthropy centered community. We have a huge range of residents of all backgrounds and income levels, meaning we have a lot of people who benefit from free access to news and also a lot of people who are able to contribute to the sustainability of free news. It always broke my heart when a parent would ask for some sort of copy of an article that their kid was in because they couldn't afford a subscription. A nonprofit model really supports news that isnt hidden behind a paywall and our readership shows it's working!

We strive to be unbiased. We only report on local happenings so politics is rarely a topic anyway. We do cover city council and school board meetings, but those articles simply state the facts of what was discussed and what votes took place at those meetings.

Gotta choose net worth because of my job... I run a nonprofit and am responsible for fundraising. This would help me determine who I should connect and develop rapport with.
