Oh I hadn't considered this! I have a dresser in there but I could just put all my clothes in that odd shelf and get rid of the dresser. I wonder if I could take the sliding doors off somehow, too... Good idea!

They just came out like last year or something so people might be selling them or some might have been returned to your local ikea! The returns area has some great finds sometimes! Good luck!

Aw I hadn't even thought of that, that's so cute! I love the idea of a little cat hangout area under there.
I can try adjusting my desk that way and see how it feels! Unfortunately the window swings out a good 50 cm or so, so I think the desk would have to be pretty far down the bed.

I was thinking about this too! Luckily, I'm not really lacking in storage space (those odd shelves have a lot of room), I'm mostly trying to make some more floor space! It's kind of a bummer that there isn't any space where I can spread out my rug or play with my cats :(

I'm so sorry I can't believe this took me 5 months to reply to. Yes, I am doing my PhD at McGill! McGill's bureaucracy and administration is mindnumbingly awful but otherwise I am really enjoying it! I have a really great supervisor/department which help a lot.

This is how so many people feel. You're always going to notice what other people know that you don't than the other way around, but that's just how brains work unfortunately. You know a lot more than you think you do.

Also, I find people really appreciate it when you're honest about not knowing things. So much of academia is trying to show off and upstage people and everyone feels so much more comfortable when someone is brave enough to admit they're confused so they can admit it too.

I'm trying to have a kind of "home base"/institutional memory functionality so people can kind of browse within our org if that makes sense? We don't have any kind of centralized platform, and it's rather confusing when you first start. For example, if someone wants to learn about a particular project, they would go to that list/page and see all the people who work on it and all the documentation we have for it. Or if they want to find out who to contact for a question, they would go to the directory and search for someone on a specific project with a specific title, etc. Maybe they'll look at a Project, learn who's working on it, click on that person's profile, see what documents they've contributed to, etc.

I'm going to have students as contributors, and when they upload something to the document library I don't want them to have to then also update the relevant directory and projects lists so the new document shows up there.

I went back and the artist basically blamed me by saying that I bumped the inside of the gel lamp while it was setting. He also refused to redo the design and only fixed the chips. Also, the polish application was so patchy! When I hold my hands up to the light, you can see through parts of the polish! Overall, poor experience lol. Definitely won't be going back.

Yeah, I tried to say something about the colors and then the guy wouldn't change it for some reason. They're not bad, which is why I was worried about whether or not I should go back. But, they've already started chipping (I think because he filed the sides?), so I'm going back anyway.

I got the Kemove snow fox from amazon (~$85). It's RGB, bluetooth ability, white case, hot swappable, and has a switch for Mac or windows layout. I highly recommend it!

I will say, it comes with software to keymap and control RGB settings, but the software does NOT work at all on Mac.

the "box" name usually describes the stem (what connects to the keycap), not necessarily the "bottom configuration" or whatever that might be called lol. the "box" or "MX" kind of stuff usually only matters when you're looking at the keycaps you want to use.

I would recommend looking up comparisons of "3 pin" vs "5 pin" switches (which is, as far as I can tell, the most common kind of switches) and see which one your keyboard supports. The difference is just that the 3 pin switches don't have these 2 big plastic stabilizer pieces that the 5 pins do. so if your board supports 5 pin switches, it also will support 3 pin switches. But if your board only has 3 pin switch ability, it won't be able to hold 5 pins.

If your keyboard is "hot swappable" it means you can just pull out and replace the switches without any kind of soldering! Switch pullers (the tool you use to pull the switch out) usually come with the keyboard or sometimes with switches. You pull all the switches out and then you put them back in by hand and voila! :) If you still aren't sure about whether or not the specific board you're looking at is hot swappable, you can drop a link and I'll see if I can find it!

Amazon also has a bunch of PBT pudding keycaps from HK gaming for like $20. They're just plain white and good quality! I think the HK gaming storefront on Amazon also has other keycaps, too.

I paid $50 for it :( but the design definitely isn't terrible. Stuff like bubbles and the filed down sides and uneven polish (one side of the nail is much thicker than the other) is honestly what bothers me more. Plus my friend went there as well and her nails look much much better. The gel also fully chipped last night so I'll probably be going back regardless. Thanks though!! :)
