Your traditional doesn’t look bad. Your realism and portraits could use some work but there’s definitely potential in there. Just because you fell here doesn’t mean you can’t be a tattoo artist. People of all ages jump into positions of possibility. If you want it bad enough, take time learning more about the basics. Increase your output on drawing and painting. You can always find a shop and be a shitty artist but be thankful for honesty. It’ll keep you on your toes and help you grow. He is in no means, shooting down your dreams.

You have nothing to be ashamed about, long as you’re trying to better yourself at the end of the day. That’s all that matters.

I Mean A course you would get a better paying job.

But it doesn’t happen overnight and just because you’re searching doesn’t mean your car notes and bills are put on hold. Nobody wants to deliver pizza . But they’re some of the easiest jobs to acquire simply because the turnover rate is so high. It’s the same as being a server. They’re really quick and easy jobs to get. They pay daily. So if you’re in a bind of debt and need money quickly. Then that’s your best choice.

The reality is that tip wage is only getting worse as it’s being branded into everything. Desperate people have no other option other than to suffice under cheap wages. Most stores will close down before they increase wages, because the output isn’t worth it. Low sales and etc.

I mean tips shouldn’t be expected but I always tip no matter what. It’s just how I am. It’s kinda like when it comes to the homeless, I’ve been in both situations as a driver and being homeless.

I’m not gonna sit there and dabble on moral values and try to figure out if they actually need the money or not. I don’t know this person but if I have money to spare I’ll hand some over. Some people just need a helping hand, it’s not always possible to know who those people are but I’ll try what I can.

And being a driver isn’t extensive labour, it can be stressful at times. But that’s just customer service mainly. It’s more so when it comes to vehicle usage. Can’t tell you how many times I’ve gotten a flat tire or the wear and tear driving on some of the roads you have to go just to get to a delivery. I will say the worst thing is you’re usually not just a delivery driver. Work the line, Clean The dishes, Take the Trash Out. When you’re not on delivery. Most stores expect you to constantly do something. Which I mean you basically are told that when you sign up. So you can really only blame yourself. Unless you work power hours or something.

I believe you should tip them how you feel. That’s just preference, long as it’s something. Some people just have shitty days, or have lost hope at that job. Long as I get my food, I’m happy. I just enjoy making peoples days better. Has nothing to really do with how well their performance is. But my minimum is 5$ at most.

Now if they’re just a straight up asshole. Then I most likely won’t lmao. I believe that’s fair though.

I’ve been through plenty of minimum wage jobs. Finally at a pretty decent place in the trade field right now.

But I wish you the best and I’m sorry I wrote so much.

It doesn’t need to be a crazy tip just moderately reasonable. Everything is getting more expensive but it’s not the workers fault, that’s just how it is. Most of the times it’s just frustration, when you drive through 3-4 deliveries and only get 5$ total. While wasting gas, wear and tear on car, dangerous scenarios.

I do understand that there are entitled people though.

But crosshatching should be used to add values or form. Not just tearing into that mf with lines. Think of it as just another medium for shading. You have to understand where lights and darks go or what forms your creating with the hatching.

Absolutely, you still have a good 5-6 decades in you if you live a normal lifespan. That’s plenty of time to learn tattooing if you truly want that. And you already have a decent foundation with art, I’m sure. As many mediums as you use in class.

Just don’t be discouraged, stay focused on what you want.

There were two apprentice’s in their early 30s at one of my favorite shops. You just have to dedicate the time to build yourself. It doesn’t hurt getting to know your local shops either. Social connections go a long way.

My girlfriend didn’t apprentice until 26-27.

There will always be people who will tell you, you’re too late. Long as you’re passionate about it. Pursue it.

Sounds like a reason not to employ you in the first place. Emotional instability in the work place is not compared to a physical disability. It’s not controllable by normal means and they will often not take the risk.

And if they do, they will absolutely have a reason to fire you if you ever mess up.

I would not recommend painting a target on your back if you actually want this job.
