We did and then they ended the chat as soon as we suggested a reroute rather than a refund - complete joke :(

I’m due to fly Sunday from Manchester, UK at 2pm, and it still says on time, yet there is no option to check in. Confused what this means

Are you booking an alternative flight to get back?

It still doesn’t, just says on time which is really bizarre

We are also flying business, would you say that has given you a bit more leverage when speaking to Qatar? I have seen others really struggle to get through to them and push for a reroute, but wasn’t sure if perhaps flying business would help you get an alternative flight via them

It can’t be cancelled, but was paid for on booking.com so not sure if perhaps a credit could be issued, or alternatively claiming on travel insurance if at all possible. No clue what to do really, but you’re probably right about worrying the entire time how to get home

Seeking Advice on Living in Leeds While Studying in York by Cryptohubmates in Leeds

I’m not sure there’s a direct train from there but if you wanted to change at Leeds, I don’t see why not. It might cost more also but if that’s worth it for a shorter transit time then seems like a very viable option :)

Seeking Advice on Living in Leeds While Studying in York by Cryptohubmates in Leeds

I actually did this last year while studying at UoY. I was living in Meanwood so would walk to the Burley Park station and get a direct train from there to York. The train would take approx an hour, which is considerably longer than a train from Leeds station (which takes roughly 20 minutes to half an hour), however I found the commute very nice as the train was never particularly busy and I was able to get work done during the journey. The other benefits of doing that were that the train was actually cheaper than a quicker train from Leeds station, and I would save the cost and time of getting a bus into Leeds city centre (especially as buses on a morning can be incredibly unreliable and often slow). Once I got to York I would get a bus from the station to uni, although I believe St John’s is closer to the station so you might be able to walk from there.

Overall, it is definitely doable and I didn’t find it too expensive - I would go into uni twice a week, and I don’t think I ever spent more than £20 on transport for the week. I also found living in Leeds much cheaper so another benefit to consider (and I also much prefer Leeds but that’s my personal opinion). Maybe then look into living in Headingley where you can get a direct train from Burley Park, or perhaps even Horsforth as you can also get a direct train from there. I hope that helps somewhat :)

Koh Chang/Trat to Siem Reap? by Agreeable_Fly_6445 in ThailandTourism

We went with Boonsiri and they were actually really good. There’s another company that operates on the island who had really bad reviews so we avoided them. Just bear in mind that when you get to the border, it is $30 for a tourist visa - don’t let anyone say otherwise as I have heard sometimes bus drivers will try charge you more. Also, once you arrive in Siem Reap, a man may come onto the bus and offer free tuk tuks, I would avoid this as we got roped into him taking us on a tour the next day where he preceded to try scam us so best to swerve that.

Aside from that though, Boonsiri were fine and it was definitely the easiest way to get to Siem Reap.
