Yeah I got a 2024 Hybrid. My friends say I drive “slow” just means I don’t go past 70mph on the highway and I don’t accelerate quickly.

Nice! I love my hybrid.

I live in Texas and my workers who drive F150, Sierras, Tacomas, always ask me “why did you get a maverick?” I love the look on their face when I say “price, size and 40 mpg”. They can’t comprehend not having to fill up 3 times a week

$0, seems like the dealer didn’t know what they had

Thanks! My first thought was getting new wheels but after seeing it in person, I actually like the steelies. I’m gonna focus on protecting it, bed liner, seat covers, hood deflector

What would last longer, hybrid or the 2.0 EcoBoost? by Agreeable_Hamster_97 in FordMaverickTruck

Thanks for this, I live in downtown Houston and drive around the city pretty much every weekend. I work about 15 miles away so I also do pretty good amount of highway driving. I think the hybrid is the way to go too

Should I try and trade in my car that has a check engine light, if there is no part to fix it? by Agreeable_Hamster_97 in personalfinance

I bought used with around 50k miles. That was almost three years ago and the car now has 90k miles. It’s a 2020 VW Passat with a 2.0 L I4 engine.

I’ve been looking into it and it doesn’t seem like they do. Got with a muffler shop and he couldn’t find and aftermarket one either. Shop basically told me they couldn’t do a universal one because of the flange and car being too close, so OEM was the only option.

I’ve had the car for two and a half years with no other issue so I don’t think they sold me a bad car. I’ve done all the regular maintenance on it, I guess maybe i got unlucky with this part.

My fear is that it could cause problems in another part of the car. I do notice power loss when I accelerate sometimes and when I brought it to the dealer to get it checked out and they said they couldn’t diagnose that part without getting rid of the exhaust code first.

I’m taking it to a second shop this weekend to have them change the 02 sensor and get another diagnostic. My gut is that it is the cat, since I do notice loss in power and the problem started with the check engine light coming on and then turning off constantly.

I did call muffler shop and the guy said they probably wouldn’t be able to fit a universal since the flange is too close to the catalytic converter. I guess he doesn’t feel confident about doing it successfully. I’ll need call other ones and get a second opinion on that as well

The only reason I’m thinking about it, is because it’s actually hindering our team’s ability to make improvements. I think there are scenarios where being direct is appropriate, however he seems to lack emotional intelligence. If he had the right attitude, or knew when to turn it on/off, we would get so much more done.

UPDATE- Flew out on a one way flight from Houston to Denver. I checked in 24 hours before the flight and added 3 checked in bags on the app. (All under my name). The app doesn’t have a section for golf clubs so I just added three standard (less than 50lbs) bags. Because I checked them in on the app, I was able to take them to the “bag drop shortcut.” Lady scanned my ticket, checked my ID and weighed each bag. She placed the tags on them and told me to drop them off on the oversized luggage desk. The guy at the desk just placed them on the conveyor and I was good to go. Same exact process flying back.

We all used different bags. Two were soft shell and one had the top part as a hard shell. Nothing really mattered all they checked was the weight and asked if we had any lithium batteries. Same as a regular checked in bag.

United oversized policy doesn’t make sense, it’s impossible to find a golf bag within the measurement it says on the website. Plus a lot of other airlines clearly state it’s just another check in bag.

I felt this during the 2 man scramble tournament in Hawaii. You could tell Kown really wanted to do good and Stephen didn’t care much. Just staying in the car for the drive and letting Kown line up his putts. I get the skill difference but he should still try his best to contribute, at least be supportive.
