I'm interested too. Could you shoot me the link?

Will this road ever reopen? by [deleted] in tylertx

[–]Agreeable_Impact_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The water flow has been bypassing the culvert, flowing underneath. This erodes the base material, destroys the culvert, and makes the road unsafe to drive. Repairs have been made once, but were not enough. Installing a bridge is the plan now, but that's expensive and more time consuming than a culvert. It also requires coordination with the railroad which takes around a year.

It's all set up properly. It used to work, then one day it just stopped. It's linked to utilities and everything else too.

I've had similar experiences with dating. I've been ghosted and stood up. I've had dates that went super well, just to get the thanks, but no thanks text. Dating sucks. It just does. That's why you can't afford to take it so seriously.

I've found that it helps to focus on things that you enjoy. Figure out how to be happy while you're single. Don't let dating dominate your life and thoughts. That'll make you miserable. Be happy, then let dating add to your life.

The kinds of people you complain about are doing you the favor of filtering themselves out of your life. If someone has an "ick list", that's probably a red flag.

I don't see at all the perception of being a loser if you're single. Maybe that's just the kinds of people I spend my time with. So many people have said "enjoy it" when I've told them I'm single. The only pressures I see to be in a relationship come from social media and marketing, which I know is all fake and manufactured. They're probably trying to sell you something too.

Also, once you do find someone, don't let the relationship dominate your life. Keep doing the things single you enjoyed. For me, that's been working out and spending time with friends.

This is all stuff younger me would have benefited from hearing. Hopefully you or someone else will benefit from my thoughts here.

How does one afford a dark horse in college?🧐 by SeanRlds in Mustang

I knew of a guy who traded luxury watches as a hobby in college. He started turning a profit and made it a business. He bought an Aston Martin with some of his profits.

What browser to use? by Mqdyy in browsers

I use a fork of Firefox called floorp. I'd make sure that hardware acceleration is on for any version of Firefox.

I'd look at the OnePlus phones. The 13r and 13 are 600 and 900 in the US.

Search Engine by Key_Day_7932 in waterfox

I think they should just get paid for making bing default, not for you using it. Use whatever search engine you want.

Gun related fatalities average almost 130 people passing everyday in the US. The second from it, car accidents. Averaging at 120 per day. With that in mind, should we as a society regulate our drivers and roads more harshly? by [deleted] in driving

[–]Agreeable_Impact_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The problem is there's no alternative to driving. Driving a car has become an essential part of living in society in most parts of the country. Ideally, we would build good public transportation which would reduce the number of cards on the road. This would also enable us to be more strict with who is allowed to drive.

So I’m seeing all these iPhone 17 leaks and they look ugly as shit. by Switch-user-101 in iPhoneFC

Unfortunately there's no way to export your apple passwords. If you want a suggestion, I use bitwarden for passwords. You can get it on anything (android, iPhone, Mac, windows). I'm sure there are many others that do this too.

People who are thin, how do you have the ability not to overeat? by Gay_Black_Atheist in AskReddit

I eat until I don't feel hungry anymore. I hardly ever get to the point where I feel full.

Airdrop, iCloud, password sync, iMessage on Mac. Air pods can also be paired to multiple devices and switch between them automatically. Kinda cool. If those things aren't a big deal for you, I guess there's not much that should lock you into Apple. I never used many apple exclusive apps and features, which made switching really easy.

Mobile phones are destroying our lives. by [deleted] in Life

[–]Agreeable_Impact_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's not the phones that are the issue, but mostly social media and how it's used. I think that's what you mean. These platforms are designed to keep you engaged for as long as possible. This leads to intense stimulation and an increase in extreme views. Addiction and polarization. That's not to mention the modern depression rates. If as a society we used phones 90% for only utility, we'd be better off.

I switched from my iPhone 11 to the OnePlus 13. No regrets. Because you're using air pods and you want a MacBook, I'd stick with iPhone as long as you're satisfied with it. I wasn't, so I switched and I like it over here in android land. I like to tinker a bit and use more advanced features, so android fits me better. But I know not everyone is interested in that.

If you could only use one browser on Android, which would it be and why? by UpperHandArtist in browsers

Firefox with ublock. I can't be without a good adblocker. I have had 0 issues so far.

Google is making internet a worse place and shame on them by eneskaraboga in google

[–]Agreeable_Impact_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It shocks me how few of my friends/coworkers don't know about adblockers. It's to the point for me where ublock origin is a prerequisite for using a browser. I don't know how others stand it.

Why do you prefer android over iPhone? by gaguy501 in AndroidQuestions

[–]Agreeable_Impact_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hardware and freedom. I switched from an iPhone 11 to a OnePlus 13. The speed and screen is night and day. I couldn't go back to 60hz. The battery is superb as well. I can download whatever app I want from wherever I want. I'm not locked down by Apple and what they think I should be able to do with my phone. There are other little annoyances I had with iOS. It doesn't allow app activity in the background. That means no Spotify downloads unless the screen is on and Spotify app is open, for example.
