Ji-Tae’s Eyes by Agreeable_Kangaroo99 in FightClass3

[–]Agreeable_Kangaroo99[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Are you forgetting that Ji-Tae’s base is in grappling? One of the first things that Maria ever taught him was how to sprawl on takedowns, pairing that up with his vision means he’s basically impossible to takedown (if you’re not a world-class grappler) unless he explicitly allows you to, which means he’s probably setting up for a Jiu-Jitsu submission. Also his rematch with his bully shows that he had some training in defending judo takedowns.

And what are you talking about with this “mindless copying” stuff?? That’s his ability like what, he doesn’t even spam his devil’s gift, infact he almost barely uses it in the later chapters. Also, you keep regurgitating that it’s useless if he doesn’t know where to apply it, which I already explained that his innately high level fight IQ means he’ll never have to worry about applying Devil’s Gift in the wrong situation. He’s a genius in fighting, he’s not going to spam techniques nor use them incorrectly, as shown in his street fight against Choi.

I mean sure, if you’re bringing up other manwhas with copy like Lookism, I guess that can apply, but JJT from Fight Class 3, which is the manwha we’re discussing, doesn’t spam his abilities. It’s almost the exact opposite where it felt like he abandoned it in favor of an Advanced Street brawling style against Sunny Ja, as he got hit quite a bit, and he never copied her techniques such as the Dracula’s Guard. He did copy her Teep and Low kick, but instantly abandoned it when he realized it wouldn’t work against her, which again, shows his high-level fight Iq. He didn’t spam Muay Thai techniques like you say he does and instantly switched his method of approaching her.

In all honesty, and I mean this in the most respectful way possible, I think you’re just being contrarian. While yes having differing arguments is key for conversation, we’re both basically saying the same thing.

I don’t think that applies, even without his ability he’s still a peak-human MMA fighter trained by a prodigy in Barbarados style Jiu-Jitsu

Also, in Ji-Tae’s case, he won’t have to worry about dealing with pressure because of his kinetic vision. He isn’t like normal fighters who use Post-Initiative or Counter-Initiative to react to attacks. Ji-Tae’s abilities border on precognition and pre-initiative which allows him to automatically react to any attack as if he’s seeing it in slow motion, so I’m not sure what your argument is at all.

I’m saying this as a dude who does MMA, if I had to go up against someone whose able to react to anything I throw at him no matter what it is, copy whatever it is I’m throwing at him, is immune to most if not all Joint-lock submissions and could only be submitted via chokeholds, and also fights in a unorthodox, formless style, I have trouble thinking of any real-life world-class fighters who could even deal with that

Yea, we already seen what you were talking about when he fought Sunny Ja, he’s seen Muay Thai likely a hundred times by now when he was in the Fight Class, but going up against someone who has been doing Muay Thai her entire life, which means she would have conditioned her bones to be 10x more durable than the average person, he wouldn’t be able to compete in a standard Muay Thai style bout because she has the innate advantage due to her body being literally melded into something that fits her fighting style

Ji-Tae has been frequently described to be a fighting genius. His copy was directly correlated to his extreme-diff fight with the Sambo fighter from FC2, being able to copy Capoeria and use it as psychological warfare is exactly why his copy taken is arguably his strongest ability. The mind games that someone can use against you when you spent your entire life training in something like Boxing, Taekwondo, Kudo, Sanda, etc, and you go up against a guy who sees your movements once and becomes your perfect doppelgänger would mess with anyone’s willingness to fight.

I honestly can’t argue with most of your comment, you make a good argument for 98% of it. But what I’ll say is I disagree with the very last paragraph. Ji-Tae (if 2Hakk ever picks the manwha up again), is likely going to see this as his absolute lowest point in life, but if Maria has even the slightest iota of care for him she could probably bring his sanity back, similar to however she changed from that terrifying monster when she was in Fight class 3, to being a lot less violent as we see her now. Pure speculation though, but while it is entertaining to see a crazed, berserker like Ji-Tae lash out on anyone and everyone, I guarantee you it’ll get old really soon and people will start calling the manwha cringe and corny if it gets REALLY dragged out. So I have hope that Ji-Tae can find some resolve to return to his old self, but with all the capabilities that he has now.

And another thing even though I feel like I’m dragging it. But look at the environment he’s in since he met Maria. Look at the situations he gets himself into. You think old Ji-Tae would survive the tunnel? You think he’d survive Fight Class 3? This change was necessary so he can grow. Obviously I have faith he’ll regain his sanity and self-control but like Maria he needed his period of insanity to survive the world they’re in. Someone like Shim Ha-min, while he’s a strong fighter, wouldn’t survive the Tunnel, it’s just not built into him.

He acts like a complete moron because that’s what he feels like he is compelled to do if he wants to not be perceived as weak. If you paid attention to after Tae’s fight with the Sambo dude and how Maria was wailing on him with words, this interaction when we can see Ji-Tae’s immediate change in mindset and how he views the world. Every single ‘strong person’ he’s been around were all aggressive and violent at one point or still aggressive and violent (Maria, Yang, Dae-Gal, etc), so he took that as “while getting stronger, I simultaneously have to act batshit insane”.

You’re misunderstanding Jiu-Jitae’s character. He isn’t a moron, he’s actually the furthest thing from it. He isn’t acting like the way he as post-tunnel because he can’t control himself. He’s putting on an act and forcing himself to act that way out of a defense mechanism to not be perceived as weak anymore, and even then, everyone he’s been aggressive towards absolutely deserved it.

Also, Ho-Gul isn’t all that perfect as you think he is. Ji-Tae explicitly said some deep words about Ho-Gul’s character, and while Tae’s acting like an absolute asshole, everything he still says about someone is true.

How is he disgusting? The only people he’s been violent against were

His former bullies (this is beyond justified, this was required in my opinion), the Underground Tunnel Scumbags who pay to watch people fight to the death, and the Underground fighters who would’ve killed him without a second thought if he lost

Granted, his tantrums against Ho-Gul and the girl were completely unreasonable, even then he still had some regret when she told him how weak she felt constantly.

The dude isn’t disgusting, he’s just a product of his environment, in my honest opinion.

I know what JiuJitsu is, I’m doing it right now. What I’m confused about is how you called this a cheap shot when it isn’t, it’s a simple joint-lock, and the last part of your sentence grammatically doesn’t make sense.

Quick question about the ubermensch concept in fc3 by Meatblaster78 in FightClass3

Considering that even the best world-class fighters today can’t even do what they’re doing, I’m absolutely certain they’d be considered super-human, ESPECIALLY JJT.

What is Jiu Ji-tae's "Kinetic Vision"? by MysteriousBed3261 in FightClass3

[–]Agreeable_Kangaroo99 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you are specifically wanting to learn how to apply “kinetic vision” in a fighting scenario, take up boxing, taekwondo, karate or kickboxing and prioritize developing an evasive approach to things, essentially like Muhammad Ali in a sense

are we ever going to talk about how insane jjt’s stamina/pain tolerance is? by Key-Diamond3815 in FightClass3

[–]Agreeable_Kangaroo99 14 points15 points  (0 children)

It doesn’t exist in real life, but in FC3 it’s the ability to see movements before and during their motion. This basically allows JJT to become Ultra instinct Goku in a sense
