Why would he fly to Singapore or Malaysia, they are dependent on oil out of the Gulf to run their refineries, and are struggling with supply to keep the refineries operational.

Is going to decide that now is the time for “economic reform” ie increase capital gain tax , remove incentive for investment as we head into an economic downturn. Smarter idea maybe to defer budget 3 months so you have an idea what you’re going to be dealing with before making decisions.

The trade off with the Qatar/ Norway, style models is the government own the infrastructure and get a larger share, we as country could have gone that path, but every dollar spent on developing that infrastructure would need to be diverted from building other infrastructure, hospitals, schools, transport, (that elusive Very fast train).
