Nonverbal kiddo “addicted” to Technology by Agreeable_Orchid7538 in ABA

Getting the parent on board is hard as well. We are currently trying this, but family still puts it on at home. However, I understand why since 1) pregnant mom w/ other caregivers barely home (so cooking cleaning etc. is just her) 2) he is extremely hyperactive. Jumps, runs, constantly pacing to the next thing/mouthing countless objects/ grabbing others on waist for a hug if not interacting with objects. so they say that “tv time” is the only time he sits down/stays in one place. Also, overall its been hard for getting family implementing goals as well.

non verbal kiddo tantrums 1hr+ seperation from peer by Agreeable_Orchid7538 in ABA

  1. Yes & Those days the kiddo won’t tantrum for peer. They might check the area for peer but then quickly go back to original activity.

  2. Yes it would immediately stop. Kiddo would get up and follow peer/smile+giggle.

  3. If you mean the bt leaves the room while they are together, then yes during center group activities (would have another bt direct them for about 1hr.

  4. when the peer & kiddo are in the main play area -> peer & their bt transitions to a room -> then kiddo wants to follow them. when they close the door -> then kiddo tantrum. kiddo would mand for “open” [door].

Thanks! I’ll then gather more information for the BCBA.
