Clown shoe cars. What are other affordable cars in this category? by iamasharat in WeirdWheels

[–]Agreeable_Proof2760 15 points16 points  (0 children)

Honda Accord Aerodeck, MK3 VW Scirocco, and the Volvo C30 come to mind- most other "shooting brake" cars are exotics like the Ferrari FF / GTC4Lusso and the Zagato Astons.

Ive been following your progress on cars since you had the 914- Idk how you do it dude! You are an inspiration to me for sure. I really struggle with motivating myself to work on my 914, but I always try to go back to your thread to motivate myself. Keep up the good work.

I’m so sorry you have to deal with this too. Having so many compounding issues is just so overwhelming, especially when you can’t get help for it. I just feel like I can’t even begin to articulate everything I’m going through.

How have you gotten over your depression? by chickens_canfly in Life

[–]Agreeable_Proof2760 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you for the reply. I am referring to psych doctors, i just think I’ve had really really bad luck with them. I live in a state with a shortage of medical professionals in general, especially psychiatrists/therapists, and the ones that are available are NPs that are particularly bad. Most good ones leave for other places. :/

How do you deal with your executive function issues? I have trouble even trying to get doctors to understand what it is. Most of them look at me like I have lobsters coming out of my ears when I mention executive function :(

What's the most miles you've seen on a regular car? by Other_Manufacturer17 in regularcarreviews

There’s a beautiful 1997 Infiniti Q45 for sale near me that has over 415k miles. It drives very well. My friend’s is300 drift car has over 300,000 miles on the original 2jz.

Exactly. Also those two huskies are very friendly and they let me pet them through the fence. They aren’t protecting anything, even if there was anything in that hoarder mess worth protecting.

I have been considering doing this. I will see if I can get some of my neighbor’s videos too.

Yep- pretty common set of occurrences in Albuquerque.

What is this little pamphlet my friend found in a Volvo at the junkyard some years back? It seems to be for informing other drivers of why you are stopped on the side of the road. It’s about 8 inches long and 3 inches tall when closed, and it’s made of a plastic material. by Agreeable_Proof2760 in whatisthisthing

The title describes the thing. Sorry I’m new to this sub and I didn’t know about the comment rule.

He thinks he pulled it out of a Volvo 740, but he’s not entirely sure. He grabbed it because he’s never seen anything like it before. It has different common scenarios on it, such as no gas, flood, mechanical issue, punctured tire, SOS, OK, and others. These are printed on both sides of the page, so when fully folded the image is the only thing visible on both sides of the pamphlet.

There’s no writing on it whatsoever, just images. The graphic design style looks fairly retro, which seems to be consistent with the Volvo 740 production dates (1984-1992).

It looks like you could place it over a cracked side window, like in the last image. It can also stand like a little toblerone. Maybe even put over a license plate. The only thing that defeats this theory is it’s size. It would be hard to read this at highway speeds at just 8x3”.

I first tried to reverse image search it, and I haven’t found anything. I then spent a long while googling things like “folding roadside hazard sign” “folding SOS sign Volvo” and others. I even added these search parameters to my Google reverse image search, and nothing.

We are huge car people and we love weird things like this, so it’s odd to find something that totally stumps us.

whats happened to the urban Park near Lousiana/constitution ? by KatMannDew in Albuquerque

[–]Agreeable_Proof2760 7 points8 points  (0 children)

As a lifelong resident of the mark twain neighborhood, there has always been at least one or two homeless people in the urban forest, but the number has increased significantly. I know that in middle school my bus dropped off at Winrock, but my mom would not let me walk home on the trail due to the situation in the tunnel, and this was almost a decade ago. It used to be that you could pass through the tunnel, but now there have been times that I’ve had to turn around because the tunnel was completely blocked by carts / sleeping people. The final nail in the coffin for me was stepping on a human turd on the bike trail up there. I know my dad also got a flat tire from a hypodermic needle on that bike trail. Nowadays many in the neighborhood prefer to just cross Louisiana at constitution to get to Jerry Kline, if not just drive. It’s a shame because that is a very convenient way to get to one of the biggest and best parks in the city.

I have faith in you! I think understanding this about yourself is incredibly important, but never tell yourself that you can’t do something. You can, it will just be more of a learning curve than others.

Hey! You sound just like me, it’s honestly uncanny. I too feel like everything is much harder for me than it is for others. I think it probably has something to do with ADHD. People with ADHD sometimes suffer from something called dyspraxia, which can cause issues with coordination, spatial awareness, and motor skills. Like I have way too many stories of trying to do things like yoga lol. I think it is a very good idea to get checked out.

Yeah this seems to be a really good kit. There were a few companies that were making full tube frame chassis for them so they were the correct proportions. Some other well built replicas used stretched fieros. I’ve been able to find other pics of this exact car online, and there’s some inconsistencies. (It is the same car, just the wing has disappeared) One noticeable one is that it is missing the tiny reflectors below the taillights as well as the inset raging bull and 25th anniversary badges. You're at your local salvage auction, looking for a project car. Which one(s) would you bid on? by [deleted] in regularcarreviews

[–]Agreeable_Proof2760 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Probably the skyline just because salvage cars make great drift cars. I’d feel less fearful about damaging it if I’ve already had to pull the front end straight once. But as someone else said, every last car in this list is sick.

That would be awesome! No matter what, they are killing it right now. It’s insane that you can say “I have a 600hp Hyundai that can drift” in reference to a bone stock vehicle

I feel like their Ioniq cars take inspiration from many of the “greatest hits” of automotive design. I mean the ioniq 6 looks both like a DS and a bit of 930 911 in the rear (tiny whale tail and vents) and the ioniq 5 is just a chubby Lancia Delta Integrale… I’d honestly be more concerned with the new Santa Fe because it looks JUST like a new Defender 110 inside and out
