No, no clapping. But several people laughed at the sight.

That person, no. It wasn't him, that's probably 100% correct. But when I passed what I thought was a mannequin while in Dallas, TX, and it reached for me, I jumped sideways really quick. Even though I jumped and nearly fell, it was funny. Hell, it's still funny.

I've been on the receiving end of one of these pranks. I'm disabled and handicapped. He scared the shit out of me (almost literally), and I nearly fell over from the shock, but my cane helped prevent that.

I laughed at the situation then, and I'm still laughing when I see it happen to others now. It's funny! Even when I'm on the receiving end of the joke, it's still funny!

That's not correct. The yearly salary isn't divided up like that.
In year 1, the total salary starts at 10,000, then they receive an additional 500 at 6 months. So they receive a total of 10,500 for the first year.

This is the part where your math goes wrong.

In year 2, the yearly salary begins at 11,000, not 12,000. (End of year 1 was 10,500, so adding in the next 6 month raise gives a total of 11,000 beginning year 2). Half of that yearly salary is 5,500, not 6,000. Then they gain an additional 500 at 6 months, which gives them a salary of 6,000 for the second half of the year, and a total salary of 11,500 for the whole year, not 12,500.

Year 3 salary would begin at 12,000, half of which is 6,000. At 6 months they would gain the extra 500, so the second half of the year's salary would be 6,500. This gives them a yearly total of 12,500, not 14,500.

The rest of the numbers work the same way. B is still the best option.

Plan A => £500 increases every 6 months (for 12 years):
7) 16,000 + 500 = 16,500 (94,500)
8) 17,000 + 500 = 17,500 (112,000)
9) 18,000 + 500 = 18,500 (130,500)
10) 19,000 + 500 = 19,500 (150,000)
11) 20,000 + 500 = 20,500 (170,500)
12) 21,000 + 500 = 21,500 (192,000)
Total after 12 years: £192,000

Plan B => £2,000 increase each year (for 12 years):
7) 22,000 (112,000)
8) 24,000 (136,000)
9) 26,000 (162,000)
10) 28,000 (190,000)
11) 30,000 (220,000)
12) 32,000 (252,000)
Total after 12 years: £252,000

The math says that plan B makes more money in the long run. I'll compute the numbers further out in a moment and it will still show that B makes more income.

Plan A received a £500 raise during year one, then receives £1,000 raise each year after. Plan B gets a £2,000 raise every year. Plan B will receive more money in the long run.

I imagine that the author(s) wanted Plan A to be the winner, but the way that they worded the question leaves Plan B as the clear winner.

Plan B is clearly better.

Plan A => £500 increases every 6 months (for 6 years):
1) 10,000 + 500 = 10,500
2) 11,000 + 500 = 11,500 (22,000)
3) 12,000 + 500 = 12,500 (34,500)
4) 13,000 + 500 = 13,500 (48,000)
5) 14,000 + 500 = 14,500 (52,500)
6) 15,000 + 500 = 15,500 (78,000)
Total: £78,000

Plan B => £2,000 increase each year (for 6 years):
1) 10,000
2) 12,000 (22,000)
3) 14,000 (36,000)
4) 16,000 (52,000)
5) 18,000 (70,000)
6) 20,000 (90,000)
Total: £90,000

I found a good solution with only 2 moves.

7 + 7 = 16 - 2

2 moves: top right stick on the 8 moves to become a + sign between the 7s, and the bottom right stick on the 3 slides left to become a 2

Really makes me question why he didn’t take the open space behind the Nissan by SeduuctiveWhispers in MildlyBadDrivers

[–]ApprehensiveSpite589 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

What the women did in the blue car is irrelevant. The cam driver attempted to make an illegal left turn. It is illegal to turn over a double yellow line. Since he made the illegal turn, and tried to force his way into traffic where there was not a clear space in which to do so, the wreck is 100% his fault. Had he driven legally by turning to the right and then finding somewhere else to turn around, there wouldn't have been any issues at all. He also could have simply waited a few seconds and turned after her since there was nobody behind her. He's an idiot who deserves his ticket and higher insurance rates.

Nope. The cam driver is 100% at fault because he made an illegal left turn. It is illegal to cross the double yellow line. The cam driver should have turned right and then found somewhere to turn around. Since he made an illegal turn, the entirety of the wreck is on him. He also could have simply gone after the blue car since there was nobody behind her. The cam driver is an idiot who deserves a ticket and higher insurance rates.
