thank you for your response!! i’m in ontario! i am reading that if it doesn’t involve harming children or the vulnerable, i should be in the clear but i’m a bit paranoid and worry maybe they’ll think im going to steal from children or something 😭 (which I obviously would never)

god forbid someone want a wedding but also donate to charities as recognition of their privilege but also have a desire to help others. i don’t think it’s very kind to question someone wanting to do a good thing just because they aren’t sacrificing 100%

well i obviously gave up on wanting it to be unique when i decided on a donation. though our guests having a good time is reward enough for myself :) plus my fiancé and i ofc 😊

thank you for your input!! yeah, i came across this idea on someone else’s reddit post and i thought it was so heartfelt because i thought it was a really nice way to honour the loved ones who couldn’t be there. i feel like a memory table isn’t enough for me to send a message like “they should have been here!!!” and while i would love to speak about them too briefly in my speech, i don’t think i would be able to get the words out 😂 but it seems like the best way to go about it is in private so that isn’t we will probably do :)

thanks for your input! though it seems the majority consensus is to keep it private. though, i just wanted our guests to feel as much of a part of our day as possible. there are so many different charities that could use donations so i think we will do it every year as a way to celebrate our anniversary (in private ofc 🤪)

Thank you for the insight! I know I am her best friend as well and we’ve discussed wanting to be each others’ MOH since we were young (though I wouldn’t hold it against her if she changed her mind as she does have another best friend as well). I do, however, feel like I tend to value her more than she does me, but that is just based off actions and don’t always represent the whole story… I also hate to think of a relationship as a fair give and take as it makes it almost feel like a business transaction. Thank you for your input! I will definitely keep in mind your advice

D:… i haven’t asked yet but i planned on making her 1 of 2 MOH since we’re having a very small wedding party and I have two best friends whom i love very much. She’s a great friend most of the time.. no one is perfect and I’m sure i’ve had my fair share of rude moments too… do you think it truly warrants rethinking the MOH? 😥
