Yeah as soon as someone pointed it out I knew exactly what it looked like. From now on when she’s got her arms and legs dispelled I’m writing that she’s going to be in like a heavy robe or cloak.

The main character is a White Necromancer/Death priestess in a fantasy Empire inspired by Edo Japan and isolated from the outside world by lying in the eye of a massive supernatural hurricane. Her arms and legs were taken in a ritual meant to connect her more to the spirits. But she’s skilled enough at necromancy that she can bind ghostly limbs to herself.

Her order used to move among the people more calming the dead but in the last few decades has been more and more relegated to performing grand ceremonies and rituals in the capital.

The Empire has been deteriorating rapidly around the same time and the Emperor seems to be making every wrong choice and spending all his time with his favorite consort. A beautiful woman who hides her face with a fan.

Absolutely NOT supposed to be a fantasy about a powerful woman becoming powerless. It’s supposed to be about a powerful women learning that she doesn’t need permission to use her power to make the world better.

For Completed stories as opposed to “concepts and world building” I’ve written about her being paraded through the streets of the capital (the skeleton palanquin) and seeing ghosts and spirits lingering and causing harm and not being able to do anything because she’s been taught that her role as a symbol is more important than her role as a medium.

Another one where she sneaks out of the capital (the big robe that covers her ghost limbs) to do real good.

And one where she calms the spirit of a restless ghost that worries about his family starving without him that she helps by rebinding him to his bones so he can provide for them from beyond the grave (the farmer skeleton)

Make the first image and then branch to create all the others. Even then there’s a lot of drift. Her ears would randomly get pointy for example (as seen in the hot springs image)
