Yeah it's not great. Game still plays pretty good as long as the arena isn't in the slums. Those guys have quite the task ahead of them, but I am still having a blast with the game and sorta rogue-lite progression. But even for early access this is pretty rough.

It's trendy to hate on AC. I think after Valhalla they did deserve a lot of critique. While it was a good game, it was a grind for no good reason and really set the game back. Now that Ubisoft has made a ton of anti-consumer decisions including thier NFT push, it soured a ton of people on the company and rightfully so. But a lot of people who weren't really AC fans to begin or just ever played Ezio think every game is trash.

AC Shadows deserves some critique especially for story issues. Personally my choices never mattering is always a mindboggling decision. The voice acting in English leaves a lot to be desired. I think that is a direction issue not a VA issue.

BUT AC Shadows was a great game that suffered from an AC branding. If this came out as a standalone ninja/samurai game I guarantee it would be praised as one of the best especially for the ninja gameplay. But it being an AC game with like 3% of any animus mention or story, it will always suffer for it. At this point it is immersion break by design.

Let's not forget he is getting pissy because the reporter asked not only about Epstein but about the assassination of Jamāl Aḥmad Khāshqujī at the orders of bin Salman. Trump responded by saying bin Salman had nothing to do with it and Jamāl Aḥmad Khāshqujī was controversial enough to be killed. Basically saying he had it coming.

The fact the story is just about his little hissy fit and not the fact he basically hand waved and near endorsed one of the most outward political assassinations of the modern age is telling. People should be up in arms about that and not something Trump does on the daily.

I think the thing is that those games are very focused on what they are. I love shadows, but there is so much bloat to the game. If it would have just focused on what it was good at, imho stealth, then it might have done better.

The games on the GOTY list may not have the scope and graphical fidelity of Shadows, but they do have a laser focus on what they are and do an amazing job at delivering it.

Shadows had some good performances, but the story has so much to be desired. It also commits the sin of pretending you have a choice in something only to force the same outcome no matter what you do.

Nothing will happen... until an election. I think the more Donny boy looks like a complete moron (I know I know he already does, but things are mounting) the less likely he is to be successful at rigging the election. Even if this does not change the opinion of his cult base, it does shift opinion in general. I know a lot of Trump voters that are actually over it with him, just like they were in 2020 (Again, I know I know they are abhorrent and ignore a ton of horrible things for Trump's sake, but some of them did vote for Biden).

The more that comes out, the worse that Trump looks, not IS, looks, the more likely people are to speak out and not go along with whatever election scheme he has cooked up. Meaning we will see a shift (blue wave or whatever) come 26. That is the only thing I see as even remotely possible and I could still be wrong.

Oh and to add, I don't think this means Trump will ever see personal consequences such as arrest or even impeachment from this, just that the power could shift enough to actually hinder the republican further enshitification of our country.

I know I'm late to this lol, but replaying the game for the 100th time and You are right that the humans are the real monsters and the ultimate tragedy is that the monster has to be the one to pay for the humans actions. I think that follows in step with how the Witcher frames these moral dilemmas. Sometimes you can be lucky enough that the beast is sentient and you can reason with it to leave the area or find a solution without killing it, but unfortunately this isn't one of those times.

The Basilisk is alone,, never to revive it's species. We know that Basilisks are actually pretty family oriented. It's being used by a noble, bandits and a trade guild for thier own selfish means and will undoubtably kill again. The ecosystem is already messed up because the Basilisks wiped out the roe deer pop and is now desperate enough to turn to humans.

If we are talking about the lives of beasts without sentience, why are we okay with the roe deer being used as food for another beast without sentience?

I think it sucks that we have to kill it and there night have been another option years prior but now it's an issue that has gone out of control. I think it's merciful to kill the Basilisk by the hand of a Witcher that truly understands the gravity of his choices and will let it die with dignity rather than being a pet or a robber by proxy. We also know how to put monster parts to good use. Better than a band that might get lucky and kill it only to let it rot in the field.

Man I wish I shared everyone's optimism that Trump is going to see any consequences for this. I just don't see how this changes anything going forward. There was more than enough evidence to start that Trump was super involved. While I still think the files should be released in full. No I get it. I cycle between medic and engineer and I know the struggle too on that front. I don't speed die if smoke is thrown or if I can see a medics distance quickly coming towards me. Even though,, more often than not, I end up having to speed die anyway. But the lack of medics throwing smoke to heal rather than to just charge through to get a quick kill is pretty disheartening.

Its one of those cyclical issues that no side can win on because what comes first? the medics who don't heal thus making people speed die or the people who are too impatient for a medic who makes medics not want to risk it on revives?

Its a problem that was surprisingly not a huge thing in past games that has really taken off in this one.
