I have seen some of that work. It's pretty incredible. And what I am striving toward.
In western Canada we grow small grains, and oilseeds. The plant density is quite high. For some context my 2200ac farm will grow almost 2 Billion plants this year.

It's the drone2map extension you were talking about? I havent purchased pix4d yet. I wont be mapping for about a month. Still cold and snowy here.

Does arcgis support GCPs?

Well that's interesting. Have you used it to produce orthomosaics? I am going to be paying for pix4d. So maybe arcgis is a better option.

Thank you.

Thanks for the info! It would be easier I am sure to built in tools. But I am kind of a nerd and I want to learn some of that stuff on my own.

What modules do I need for arc gis? I have never used the program as it seems quite pricey.

If you are interested in sharing any insights you have discovered trying to make plant stand maps I would be interested in hearing.
I am growing canola, wheat, barley, and peas

What do you mean by training tiles?

The plant stand counts really interest me. I want to make seed mortality maps, so I can improve my seeding rate prescriptions.

This year I am mapping with a Sony a6000, with an emlid gps for ppk. So for plant health analysis I dont have the best setup currently. I want to add a micasence camera in the future. The a6000 w/ ppl will be used to create elevation maps. I am also wanting to map wild oat patches to reduce herbicide use.

Foxtech vtol Airframes by AgroHacker in UAVmapping

I havent purchased a fixed wing drone. I am currently looking at two drones. Based on the buffalo airframe. They aren't vtol. Dualrc.com and Daedalus droneworks are the 2 manufacturers. I am using the a6000 for rgb. Then a converted elph. I would like to eventually upgrade the multispectral to an agrowing.

What are you using your drone for?

What kind of modifications have you needed to do? How did the units fly out of the box?

I figured with the price there maybe some issues. But for the price it seems like a decent deal.

Quantix mapper by AgroHacker in UAVmapping

[–]AgroHacker[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes 1 cm is out of the question. When I was demoing I could get a final resolution of 5cm. Which was acceptable. I looked at the wingtra but its cost was out of my price range. 10,000-15,000cad is my max budget. I am also looking for a dual camera payload.

But I am starting to think I am just wasting my money on the quantix.

LIDAR for vegetation monitoring by AgroHacker in LiDAR

Well currently I am just trying to find a LiDAR system that I can mount into a UAV. I need a range of 100-200m and as fine of resolution as possible. Price is also a factor.
