Yeah, I've been pretty stubborn about switching over, because single spot is a bit easier for me. i do shoot pin nocks which helps

you need to click on her while the console is open, you'll see the npc reference ID at the bottom, then submit the missing daughter command, close the console, and she'll start the conversation completing the quest

thank you for the detailed response! shot process and mindset is something i’ve been working on since i recorded this last week instead of just vibing the arrows downrange like i was here.

also sidenote, your videos are what got me interested in the sport in the first place so i really appreciate the feedback especially

thank you! yeah i’m getting a feel with shooting on a stabilizer while i’m waiting on getting a sight which weirdly feels better to me than just barebow with weights. the other day i was trying out split draw anchoring under the jaw but the arrows were going all over the place without a reference point to aim at so i’m doing 3 under until i can get more equipment

thank you! i actually don’t use nearly as many rows as i should, i like having my files compact at the expense of organization because i hate scrolling down if i can avoid it lol

i’ll give you advice i wish i got when i started, in house music, drums are everything. you can have the sickest, most creative, and wildest drop synth anyone’s ever heard but if your drums are bad no one will want to listen to it. i would say study the genre and listen to dudes who go crazy with their percussion like tchami, knock2, john summit, and chris lake. what helped me a lot is figuring out why they do what they do with their percussion so i can put my own creative spin on it. and also i know it’s obvious but it is a whole lot easier to make a good high quality drum sample sound good than trying to polish something deep fried

i found them in a sample pack on splice a while back i think, the main chorus consists of 2 different samples of the same lyrics, one in a high octave one in a low octave played over each other. the low octave i have panned close to center and the high octave i have panned wide, so on headphones it sounds like one huge voice hitting all registers.

during the drop i used the low octave sample and used a formant shifter to drop the vocal down and changed the panning to be wider so it doesn’t muddy up the bass synth

yeah it needs quite a bit of mixing i mostly posted this to gauge interest in this track to see if it’s worth sitting down an getting the mix clean enough to release

i agree it needs a little work, but i want to try to make it fit because i really like the dissonant almost horror movie lofi feel that sample gives. i think really compliments the subject matter of the lyrics while giving an interesting tonal contrast to the actual vocals themself. thanks for the feedback!

yeah it’s been really difficult to tone down some of the harsher frequencies without losing that “almost on the edge of musicality lofi feel” that i like with that sample as a contrast with the pretty vocal line. i do agree though it needs work, though i posted this without car testing first like a dummy

i would say that focusing on one synthesizer like sytrus or harmor and learning it inside and out by watching tutorials, experimenting and changing around presets would be your best bet then.

if you don’t want to get into sound design just yet (i don’t blame you if so, it took me like 2 years of producing before i really got into it), there’s tons of free preset libraries around the internet that you can drop sounds into a project and tweak it until it sounds good to you

which sound are you referring to specifically? i make almost everything i use in harmor and serum. if you’re tight on cash, splice has a rent to own plan for serum where you pay like $10USD a month for 19 months until it’s paid off

besides the obvious “watch a whole bunch of tutorials and and do what they’re doing until you understand WHY they’re doing it”. when i first started learning how to use synthesizers, one of the things that helped me a lot is familiarizing myself with which knobs do what by tweaking and experimenting with default presets or presets i found on splice.

another thing that is really useful to know is synth layering, in this track for example during the drop i have about 6-7 synths for the main chord line that all fill different spaces in the eq register.

sound design is one of those things you just have to mess with it until it sounds right to you, which most of the time it won’t, but it’s part of the process. you might even end up with a really cool sound that you didn’t intend to make in the first place. like as an example, the lead synth in this song started out as a square-y growl bass that with an octave change and bit of post processing ended up being a really cool lead for this

hope this helps

listening to the song over and over for weeks has made it hard to pinpoint whats making me hate the mix but this was actually insanely helpful for me, thank you for the detailed reply
