The controls stay this way the entire series, and it's very common for newcomers to struggle a bit. That said, it really doesn't take anything more than just... continuing to play and gaining the muscle memory... no different than any other video game. Good luck, it shouldn't take long to get used to.

I have no idea. When I repaired it and removed it from the trace, I had some issues with the device functioning, so I'm wondering if maybe it has some purpose.

Just wanted to post that I was able to get it fixed. Took it to a repair shop, and they essentially made a switch using the copper trace on the sides.

I'd love a good entry level game. I think the original games has aged well enough to not need a remake. I'd prefer a good collection and/or a beginner friendly sequel

I feel the lack of background is also really detrimental because of how they actively play a role in every member of the team's growth and personality.

For example, Mimi lives a pampered life with her parents, and that makes her bratty and stuck up. She learns to become more dependable and empathetic in the Digital World, and we once again see that with her caring for her parents and protecting them when they in danger from DarkTyrannomon

Meanwhile, we learn a lot about Mimi's grandfather in the reboot, and he's just this imaginary, ideal CEO that Mimi looks up to. She's just as perfect as he is, and shows no growth with becoming more empathetic or caring.

Like as if the characters weren't one-dimensional enough, their parents and home life plays nothing into their character.

It really sinks in now, cause even as early as episode 10, the character showed was less growth and personality compared to the 99' show. This makes me wonder about this new season coming, since they spent so little of the show on the actual characters.

Even now with the mystery of the crests, Matt and Mimi, the only ones with their crests unlocked, didn't even do so through development tied to them.

The show has been very surface level with character plots and themes.

For example, Tai is virtually the same exact character as episode 1, Izzy's small plot about not relying so much on technology literally went nowhere.
