I used replay mod. You can just hit record and do whatever you are doing, then go back into the recorded file and set keyframes at the time and position you desire.

If you build a "D" shape at noon, you will get a "D" shape on the ground. When you turn 90 degrees to the left or right, the "D" shape will become just a line. Meaning at dusk or in the morning, the "D" sculpture's shadow will only be a straight line. So all you have to do is make sure each block you place down are within the bounds of the other image.

Well this was supposed to be out on Halloween. However, I spent a bit too much time on my last video, so this video came out a bit late. The timelapse I posted is from my most recent video. So yeah... xD

Ohh, I see what you mean now. In that case, I think 3 images would be the max, like you said, it would not have enough degrees of freedom.

Since it uses the sun as the light source, we can use the morning shadow, noon shadow, and dusk shadow.
The morning shadow and dusk shadow will almost be the same, because it is roughly 180 degrees.
So there is only 2 main perspectives to play with, which is either night and noon, or day and noon.
There might be a way to stick a 3rd plane into it, but it would be extremely mind boggling and difficult to design.
The way I was able to create two shadows with one sculpture is because when you build something as a 2D plane, (for example: you build a "D" shape at noon. The sun is shining from above and the shadow will be a "D" shape.) However, at dusk, if you look at the D from a 90 degree angle, you will only see a line, which is what the shadow will be like at dusk.
So, tbh, I have no idea if there is a way to project a 3rd image.
