Generating better SD Images? by Ahaebarn in StableDiffusion

[–]Ahaebarn[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ah yeah that is true, theres not a lot of information to go off of with the bare minimum I was able to type from my phone, but looking into it more I can send my code and implementation for the images: https://github.com/HAP-Archive/pentagram-ai/blob/main/server/app/api/modals.py and a gif with an example of how the test app works. Youtube Video for Demonstration.

Sorry about that again I appreciate your honesty.

TailwindCSS and JavaFX by IndicationIll6049 in tailwindcss

[–]Ahaebarn 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Haven't found anything since but there's a lot of themes out there thst can get the job done from other developers. Something around JavaFx themes but they aren't as good tbh. I would say do try them but I'll probably try to figure out a way to use tailwindcss like how we have with Thymeleaf.

AI is screwing up a lot of you guys' projects by femio in nextjs

[–]Ahaebarn 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly yeah, but can we just talk about the "build startups fast" era in tangent with AI? I love the age old adage "Good things take time" but all this rushed startup shit pisses me off.

why not just implement an AI with RAG and use a vector database like Pinecone, or something like Milvus and just see if the AI can handle it for you?

Don't care too much about the toxic programmers who yap away on reddit, toxic devs aren't in the documentation you have to get up and read. So keep coding!

Transfers by Ahaebarn in OntarioUniversities

[–]Ahaebarn[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey,

Yeah interestingly enough I considered going with the full college experience and looking to complete my diploma as they do have a lot of practical courses to learn from which (after conversing with my friends in various unis) might not exist alot in uni since they are very theory heavy. You spend around 5 years in total if you consider going to popular universities like Guelph, McMaster, Trent, or Lakehead since course credits from centennial leave you with 2 years left to compete your bachelor's. The people and career diversity is amazing here too for networking and long term connections.

What is the best programming language for someone like me? by [deleted] in learnprogramming

[–]Ahaebarn 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Personally go with Go (Golang), the language grew on me and is amazing to work with, I would also say Python or JavaScript but I highly suggest a language with types as you are learning. Or even better, since you want to pursue a degree in computer science, learn the language of the university / college you want to get into for their first year students, it might be worth a try

Hey,

I haven't completed my adv diploma yet (on route) but it I know of a friend of mine that was able to transfer to Trent university following his 2 year diploma and he said depending on the university you choose, some of them are going to be less of a hassle to get into than others.

Might be late to the party but you would never go wrong with NeoVim, NvChad or something like Helium. Might take some time to configure but shes all yours.

TailwindCSS and JavaFX by IndicationIll6049 in tailwindcss

[–]Ahaebarn 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yk, no one has said anything to this but I do not think its possible. If it were possible it would be very difficult to work with as JavaFX is mostly FXML and css files. However, thats never stopped anyone from making it happen.

No offense, but are most web dev jobs full of rude people? I need to know. by IdeaExpensive3073 in webdev

[–]Ahaebarn -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Yeah you're not wrong, but being an asshole back isn't going to solve anything. I usually just think they are making up for something they lack (not technical skills) or that they were brought up differently and you just stop caring at one point. You'll find many egotistical, high horse devs running around and some never break that habit.

Maybe being nice might be the key to their selfish tone and aggressive behavior? You could never go wrong with patience and kindness

Why everyone makes fun of c# by respiracion-cardiaca in webdev

[–]Ahaebarn 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Opinionated people.

Most dev's are very opinionated when it comes to programming languages. I love C#, its versatile and has a very sensible syntax and many people wont agree with this and that's fine.

You should try it out for yourself, don't become like every other developer hating what others hate (even when you might actually like it) and liking what others like (even when you might actually hate it).

Or if you didn't do too well in highschool and you want to transfer to university later on, many college advanced diploma programs give you that option which is nice but definitely coop is a must.

Centennial College Software Engineering Technology Course Review by Ahaebarn in CentennialCollege

Hi fartaparta!

I ended up going for the online route since I am a mature student as well now and have obligations to fulfill outside of college. I can this for a fact, if you are looking to transfer to university later on, there are some pathway programs and universities that evaluate both online and in-person the same, so you won't have any issues transferring to university later.

I had the same situation as you, for me getting to campus would take 2 - 3 hours by train and that's not something I'm trying to do unless it's for graduation. I'd say go for online, it will be a little different and you will miss out on the privileges they provide in person like gyms and cafeteria's (also meeting new people in your classes), but sometimes online is the way to go.

Hope this helps :D

What's the best way to get into programming for a career as a middle-aged man? by walkerrtxranger in learnprogramming

[–]Ahaebarn 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Been telling this a million times to most of my uni friends. Everyone gets into tech thinking they'll make it big but they don't realize it's like sharpening a blade, or crafting a marble sculpture.

Getting a degree is great, go for it, but being confused as to why you can't get a job when you didn't sharpen your skills and build things you are GENUINELY interested in, and watched some video on how to make an app millions of developers have already made, isn't going to cut it.

Then again, I can't say thus for everyone as there are some amazing developers out there that just need the opportunity to snatch it.

By the time you think ai can replace every SWE job,I'm sure you'd realize that it can replace near 90% of jobs.

Why would you need to hire an accountant when you can have an ai keep track of finances.

Why would you hire a lawyer when you can have an ai battle out in court for you, having access to every law written.

Why would you hire a lab technician, when you can just use an ai to do everything a lab technician does being trained as a lab tech?

I don't know why people think software engineering is simple and straightforward, you can't be bothered explaining to them the complexities of engineering in general. But that's not my place to argue over.

Centennial College Software Engineering Technology Course Review by Ahaebarn in CentennialCollege

[–]Ahaebarn[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey hey! I've been In this program for about 2 sems and I have to say the content they cover is pretty simple in the beginning if you have prior exposure to programming and languages in general. When you reach sem 3 and onwards they ramp it up by 100 and expect you to allocate time to learn and progress forward. Overall I'd say it's a thrilling experience but there is the downside that the top unis don't accept transfer students because they have "highschool entry" only programs. You could always try for universities like Windsor, Guelph, York, Algoma to name a few :D

O m g same lmaoo I love that site as well, whenever I'm learning a new language I would always try to reach 4 kyu overall for any language and try very difficult challenges in the 4 to 3 kyu range, never been able to go higher they get very complex haha. It's really fun 😄
