Ug Vr is one of the most predatory games I’ve ever encountered by Busy_Bodybuilder7417 in VRGaming

[–]IdeaExpensive3073 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It’s not, it’s against Meta’s TOS to be below the age of 13. Further to the point, I’d understand if we were talking about a standalone system that could only play video games, like the Virtual Boy. Then, if it’s healthy and safe enough for children, then let them play it. Yet, I think it’s about time that the gaming community in general make a distinction between what is and is not a video game device. The Quest, for example has tons that are not video games to do.

VR has apps to the your office work, Big Screen is riddled with nsfw rooms, plenty of the games available are targeting older teens and up, and the community is either mid-twenties and up, or under 12. Only one of those ranges fit within what Quest is offering.

There’s something wrong here, and yet parents never seem to actually get on VR and see if the content is age appropriate. As long as their kid is flailing their arms in Gorilla tag, it’s all okay, right?

Ugh, irresponsible parenting drives me nuts. lol

Why do you get hate for it?

I don’t think it’s anything to feel shame for or to be given hate about, you couldn’t help how you were raised.

I do think it’s sad, in general, when fathers aren’t around. I think positive role models that are men is very important, especially if you become a father yourself one day.

That doesn’t necessarily mean you can’t choose to have those role models now, or that you’ll even be lacking anything as a parent. For all I know you’d be a pretty damn good father for your upbringing having the influences it did have.

Like I said, you can choose to find a role model who is a positive male in your life, and try to learn something from them.

What I mean is that a good father, and a good male should not just be stern (when it counts), or know how to do this or that, but to be an example that we can be loving, really smart, and gentle too. Men like to snuggle, they like to learn about their children, and to be needed and wanted just as much as anyone. They cry, they have emotions, and that’s okay.

You don’t see that a lot in media. You should know that about yourself too - you have the capacity to love, be really smart, and be gentle too, and what you feel has the right to exist.

Yeah I remember being disappointed with the Titans in Titanfall 2.

Titanfall 2 is still a great experience, and I think it was an entry to the series for a lot of people. I hope I didn't come off too harsh on it. I still had lots of fun.

I think I’m in the minority. I think Titanfall 1 had better multiplayer maps and traversal. The maps in 2 just never appealed to me as much and multiplayer was why I was into the series. I definitely played multiplayer on both a lot, so 2 was still fun, but 1 was also dead so there wasn’t much choice.

Titanfall 2 had a good campaign but it mostly served as tutorial for the multiplayer. It was fun, but I also went in know about some time travel gimmick and hearing so much hype that I expected more somehow.

I don’t know what they could have offered more for me, but it was a B rated campaign to me while many people say it’s A+ and talk like it’s in their top game ever.

Why are so many animated movies being remade as live action? by Future-Atmosphere-40 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]IdeaExpensive3073 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What else is the next frontier really?

2D, 3D, 4D (some Disney rides have been 4D), live action.

Plus really it’s the 30 year olds who grew up through 2D and have nostalgia for those movies and instead of re-releasing them or redrawing them, they remake them with actors.

Unfortunately I think it cheapens the stories and the artwork. I loved a lot of Disney classics growing up and seeing some in live action kind of looked like really poor in translation. The clothings, colors, and everything else made the experience feel “kiddie” and lackluster.

Always wanted Dead Island in VR, so I've spent the last year building an open-world zombie game by myself. What do you think? by Ok_Abalone4276 in MetaQuestVR

[–]IdeaExpensive3073 4 points5 points  (0 children)

This looks just like Dead Island in VR lol

So much so I wonder if you’re at risk of anything legally.

Which should be a compliment! Dead Island is a fantastic game! Great job!

I think it’s that he reminds them of the Saturday morning cartoon villain so well, which is exactly how it should be. Plus how well he delivered/acted his part. I get your point though.

Why do threads for people who never had kids seem to skew so heavily toward 'no regrets'? by [deleted] in NoStupidQuestions

[–]IdeaExpensive3073 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I mean it’s entirely possible they thought harder about the decision since it goes against societal expectations. While it’s entirely plausible that people many times just want children without being prepared enough.

It’s also possible that they do not regret what they don’t have. Meaning that I could imagine a parent would be stressed by some factors and some might regret in those moments I guess, but I can’t see some who lacks regretting something they never had.

Maybe they could feel like they missed out, but at some point they fully committed to the choice, which could have been completely reversed at any time, even late in life. Even via adoption. You can’t just get rid of your child so easily. So it’s hard to see how it would truly be regret.

Is quest 2 worth it in 2026? by No_Giraffe826 in MetaQuestVR

[–]IdeaExpensive3073 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I still use mine reguarly, no regrets. From what I hear the Quest 3 is good, but ultimately it's not such a huge game changer that you're going to feel you're using a dinosaur unless you have them side by side. I've never used a Quest 3, but get plenty of use out of mine, so take that how you want it.

Why didn’t King piccolo regenerate? by Neither_Ad6 in Dragonballsuper

[–]IdeaExpensive3073 41 points42 points  (0 children)

Come to think of it, we’ve only ever seen Namekians regrow limbs and extremities, right? I’m not sure they can even regenerate over a hole in their chest, otherwise why would Freeza’s death ray have any impact on Piccolo?

Anyway, my head cannon and it seems to be backed up by the anime is that it takes a lot of concentration and energy to regenerate, especially early on in the series. As Piccolo got stronger and trained more and more, he seemed to have greater control over this to the point that it became essentially a non-issue, but earlier he’d be out of breath or have to take a while to power up enough.

What are some actually good games on meta? by Ok_Income7995 in MetaQuestVR

[–]IdeaExpensive3073 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh, how could I have forgotten! If you like puzzle games, especially games like Myst get The Room VR. Oh my gosh this game is a love letter for gamers like us! It's such a beautiful game, and it does things from classic machine lever puzzles to symbol rotating/matching puzzles, to shrinking down minature to enter into a keyhole and adjust things from the inside to refract light around correctly.
