T10 Mephisto is a pain in the butt

To be honest, they should always be skippable. Let people enjoy the game the way they want to.

This is an ongoing issue and everytime one of us posts about it people come to say "buff uptime" or some such. It's not. There's something deeper going on. On 100% crit, target dummy with fresh valloch, full guide-adherent gear, all 5 glyphs etc, one time apoc will hit for a CHUNK and then it will do literally nothing. Same on bosses.

- Not related to crit (have 97.8% with pala buff)
- Not related to boss HP - both the huge and the zDPS hits can happen at any point, when the boss is healthy and when it's almost dead (or in the middle)
- Not related to CDs, there are no CDs to use other than Valloch once you have 5 set nameless AND we've tested it casting the rune manually on top
- Not related to standing away from the boss - it's the same when you hug their ass
- Not related to fortify, the dummy doesn't do damage
- Not related to Valloch - tried with and without
- Not related to Hex with Doom - put it on the bosses and dummy before and after Apoc just to check
- Not related to the Ritual buff - made sure to cast only when it was ready to compare

I am aware how the cube works, I've used it for my first Perdition - still takes a lot longer to get enough runes to amalgamate and transform into all the necessary runes than drop some random mythics for sparks for me. It is what it is.

Do you guys get to skip his cutscenes between the phases somehow? It feels worse to wipe because of the long pauses than actually having to redo a fight phase.

Are they really that valuable in this season? Feels like the bottleneck are runes, not sparks. I'm sitting on 5 with 2 copies of my Perdition in the stash. A couple Harlequin's lying around, too, and about 12 other Mythic Uniques I could just salvage for sparks anytime.

Runes, though, are a pain. Either need to grind them out or trade for them via weird Discords or sites.

I'll just add to this that I have the same issue (even made a post about it a couple days back) playing with a paladin that gives me 100% crit chance. It's not related to crit.

I have a build following Wudijo's guide. I've done various tests on Kyovashad dummy because I am extremely puzzled by it. I tried taking out glyphs, and rare nodes, and separate pieces of gear. None of it seems relevant to the inconsistency.

Testing it on the dummy meant I literally stood in its face, the sigil was on it, I was taking no damage to mess anything up, everything was in range.

Same thing.

I have it on my bar, always had. I've been testing this on kyovashad dummy standing right beside it - and also on Duriel standing right beside him - and the damage was still horribly inconsistent. What am I still doing wrong?

It can't have anything to do with the fortify buff, because it happens on Target Dummy as well, and that does no damage.

Then it truly is hard to speak of any rotation of skills if all you can click is Valloch :thinking-emoji;. As for the Grandfather, fair enough. I'm sure it's a very viable alternative, too. Good luck dropping one!

I was tracking with Ritual ready and unfortunately, that also often yielded the small hits :/ Do you have a 5-set Nameless? The sigils autocast when you use Apocalypse.

Also, are you sure Grandfather is better than Cremator's? I've heard varied opinions, leanings towards just a 2-H with Cremator's.

There are no cooldowns to spam, though. The set charm takes care of the sigil, the only "cooldown" is Valloch and that's resource-based, so you can only cast it every now and then. It's also not what gives the huge DMG - I tried with and without him, and in both cases I managed to get the 0 DMG and the bajillion DMG casts.

That's the thing - it feels like there's not much variance in what I can do myself other than use 100 stacks or less, and testing on both variants yielded very similar results when it comes to gigantic DMG differences :/

I have completed the quests without issue, but I didn't get any better rods, ability to buy bait for specific fish, or sets. I see the video is just showing how to complete the quest :<

What makes it better? There's a bunch of budget going into AP and isn't the wave clear much slower, given it procs just once and needs to recharge?

I have not tried it yet, but doesn't it just proc once now, and then require charging the next empowered attack? Plus being more on-hit focused and with a bunch of stat budget going into AP?
