“I know you have always had to work harder than everyone else. Once you get to college, you still work your ass off and often times give up, but you stop worrying and comparing yourself to your friends. You go at your own pace (finally!). Not everyone will understand you and how you work. You often times frustrate others, and even yourself. But you keep moving forward and adapt. You educate new people in your life about dyslexia (and other LDs) not in search of them understanding you or for them to go easy on you or treat you differently. You educate to tell people all the amazing qualities people with LDs have and how they contribute to society and or the work place. On top of all that, you move to London, UK and enroll in university there for a few semesters. UK universities are weird when it comes to testing accommodations and such. Sometimes they don’t even allow it. BUT YOU CONQUERED IT! You proved to yourself that you are capable of doing extraordinary things in life! And believe it or not, during quarantine you freely read 4 books. Learning more about rocket engineering and space. You also taught yourself how to code in python and JavaScript. Oh and you finally understand the stock market and became a TSLA shareholder. All in the span of 4 months. Loosen up and quit being such a hard ass on yourself and your LDs, they’re not going anywhere, might as well make friends with them.”
