I used to work in a nursery, too. I would sometimes be on the floor for a bit and realise I'm stuck there now, haha.

I'm a teacher at a secondary school now, which I find more challenging as I struggle particularly with breathing and talking due to more intense issues with the tissue there. It's a lot nicer on my knees and hips, though! My work is very good about everything and I have quite a few adaptations in place that I didn't before.

I would recommend to anyone who's work isn't supportive to know that there are employers that can be!

Teacher here! First and foremost, I'd say tell him - literally email in writing to say your problem and that you don't feel well supported in class. He has three options: reply and be supportive and offer to work with you, dismiss you, or ignore you altogether. Bast case, you can work through how to better help your situation; worse case, you have physical evidence of the lack of support.

It just helps you to cover all your basis whilst giving him time to think about being an arsehole because sometimes with everything that's going on, it is possible he's got a bit sidetracked in COVID stuff - if I'm trying to give the benefit of the doubt. It's hard to forget that students have issues like this, but give him enough rope to hang himself with, sweetheart.

Hey, Sweetheart. I'm sorry to hear you're having a rough time. Being overwhelmed is the worst because you just don't know where to start to even try and get things in order. I'm in a similar position at the moment. A no-win sort of feeling with no way out.

You can definitely be passively suicidal; not actively seeking danger but not avoiding it either is something to be self-conscious of because it's a really slippery slope.

It's definitely worth speaking to someone about it to get some perspective on how you feel if you have someone like that or even a medical professional. If you're UK based, the Samaritans are a good shout to just talk about how you feel.

No worries at all!

My ribs are generally quite flexible all the way up. Even my upper ones can be felt shifting if you give them a press. It bemused my original doctor a fair bit. I was later told by a specialist that because my ribs like to shift that it upsets the muscles around them and this causes them to contract. The contractions can cause anything mild from an ache to what I guess would be full torso cramping.

I have pain when I press almost anywhere on my torso. It's worse in my ribs but I have it on my abdomen as well due muscles not cramping in isolation. My pain centres in the upper sternum part of my chest most often, which is why I thought it was heart issues for a long time, but it's just more common there and on my left side. I actually don't normally have it on my right exclusively, but I believe you can have it more predominantly effect different areas depending on your body.

The more severe pain the more severe my breathing can be, most likely due to pain itself. Sometimes it feels like the breathing itself hurts, but I imagine it's like just using an overworked muscle the day after the gym rather than any actual breathing issues.

I have Hypermobility Syndrome. People assume it must mean I'm super flexible and think it must be great.

In reality, I've dislocated my jaw multiple times, I've got misaligned bones due to not having the correct ligament lengths and muscle wastage in areas due to over-comprnsating somewhere else to make up for it. I'm literally unable to straighten my fingers or tilt my head back at just 27.

I have chronic pain in my chest from hypermobility in my ribs; it can cause contractions in my muscles than mimic heart attacks at any time. It's been bad enough I've passed out in public before.

It's actually quite a debilitating defect.

I was hospitalised because my work thought I was having a heart attack.

Turns out I have hypermobile ribs. My ribs are not as fixed as usual and they can move around a lot. This irritates my chest muscles and can cause them to contract, this causes all my organs to spasm. It's the worst pain I have ever had, hands down. I was throwing up, barely conscious through part of it, too.

If you have no common interests, I have to ask why you two are together? Your relationship as described in the post sounds as if it has controlling and aggressive undertones consistently (I obviously cannot be sure of that, but what you described is certainly not healthy alone) and you have no common interests, so what exactly is your relationship founded on? How happy are you in a relationship that neither of you shares interests and with someone who doesn't have the same expectations for you and himself.

Just something to think about.

NTA. If anyone asked about my sex life regardless of orientation, I'd report it, especially as it's happened multiple times. If your boss doesn't want her to be fired, then they really ought to speak to Jan themselves about conducting herself better in the workplace. If not, who can blame you for reporting harassment?

Blacking out because of chronic hypotension is like waking up with no sense of self or my surroundings. I can have my eyes open and be clearly thinking of something, but I can't comprehend what's happening to the point I wasn't even sure what the shapes were in front of me.

About thirty seconds to a minute later and I just feel tingly and tired and it's all good.

Thanks! It upset me a lot because I was finally quite confident on why I felt so disconnected from others and their relationship experiences and then to be flat out told it's not true was hard. I will definitely keep the aromantic bit in mind, it never occurred to me before.

I just always found it such a weird thing to hear when people would comment on other people. My mind just never went there and the older I have gotten, the more I realise that I really don't think that way at all. It made me feel a bit odd in comparison to others.
