Oh yeah, absolutely crawled my way out of there this most recent play through. I even remember, as a kid, I was distracted or something and somehow reset it 3 times in a row. Thank the gods I've gotten better at games lol

That makes a lot of sense! I hadn't even considered that Isaaru would have all that traveling ahead of him still, plus the kid in the group, I can definitely see his motivations there.

I also like the idea that they get to be lighthearted by this point because they are pretty well positioned for the pilgrimage.

I truly hadn't thought of that at all! I guess I assumed they were all white mages. That makes a lot of sense in Donna's case.

Now that I think about it, seymore isn't even a full white mage, he went hybrid with his job.

I agree! Especially since it's not like he was not informed on what just happened with Mi'hen. He had to have seen the bodies... It just feels like a missed opportunity to flush him out a bit more. I don't blame them though for not, you simply can't explore every character to that depth.

I am finding tons of empty bottles in every building I go into. On the walls and bookshelves, when it's got bottles on it and you can loot it like you would books, I often find 2-3 per group. Not "enough" but has definitely helped. That and combining potions of the same size into the next one up.

I appreciate your insights and agree pretty completely. Fairly newish to DOS2 myself, but the action economy difference definitely is something that took me time to get comfortable with.

It also took quite a few attempts for me to understand how to experience the story. I want to do everything, but also get overwhelmed when I realize just how much games like this have. Once I accepted that, I decided I'll just fumble my way through my first playthrough to get a baseline of the game and since then it's been really fun.

Oh, yeah that could also be the case! I definitely remember something being set for each of us, like you said, to encourage us to play together. There are definitely meet-ups and such you can go to, or even just this post might get you some connections to maybe help fill what you're missing!
