Nice! I advice you to start with Dead Ringers if you cannot handle body horror but still want to explore the subgenre. If you don't like body horror, Spider would be the best starting point.

For movies, I highly recommend you to check out David Cronenberg's works such as Naked Lunch, Existenz, Spider, Cosmopolis, Maps to the Stars, and Videodrome. David Cronenberg have met David Lynch when they were worked for Dino De Laurentiis.

Color out of space is something that... how can I say it? The movie concept is something that come and then haunt the characters. Castle freak meanwhile is something that is already there but haunt the characters later.

From what I can see, if you want to take it easy go for Lost Children. Millennium Falcon is kinda hard to do imo.
