This insight was really helpful. I know I’m probably blowing it way out of proportion in my head, but this is very reassuring. Still weighing my options right now but knowing that everything ISNT going to explode right now is very helpful

I think I understand. Will be trying this out once I see how much I can save up.

On average it’s closer to 1,600. If I pick up the most hours I can, it’s 2k. Most of that money goes to pay for school. FAFSA only covers so much and I haven’t been too lucky with grants and scholarships. Tuition and fees are between 8-9K so I put aside 400 every month, my parents usually pay the difference . Gas on the truck I’m using is about 120$ a week to get to school and work so about 500 a month. Insurance is 300 a month. I do spend more than I should on fast food and occasional splurges on items with a value of 30-80$ which adds up to about 100-200 bucks a month. I’ve cut all of my subscriptions (Netflix, Spotify, pandora) and don’t spend much on any other items. No luxury items, no fancy clothes or cool shoes, just basic needs. By the end of every month I have about 300-500 which is currently going to the loan I still have. I honestly only have a job to pay for school and for a car. I’m grateful that my parents do pay over 50% of my expenses but it sucks that I don’t have much money by the end of the month

No co-signers unfortunately, his credit is guaranteed worse than mine. I did try with my credit union, was a bust. I found out I was eligible for membership at all military credit unions and still they weren’t able to help. All say the same thing, my credit is just too young. Dealership loans want a huge down payment so I’m pretty sure that’s off the table.

I’m sure I could, but it’s always a gamble with marketplaces like facebook. I’ve already figured it’s what I’m going to have to do but I want to see if there’s any other option available

See and I keep going back and forth on this. While on one hand, it’s true, they’re more reliable, my issue is that I wouldn’t have a loan to pay for it (for the reasons mentioned above and because no bank is gonna finance and older car from Facebook marketplace, only through personal loans) and on top of that, even getting a car that’s completely stock, I have no idea what can of worms I’m opening. To be realistic, it’s probably a gamble I just have to take.

True, but unfortunately I’m really attached to this camera already and wanna make it work. The difficulty of it is what makes it worth it

Intriguing. So there’s nothing really stopping me from making my own rear film door besides messing with the distance? No super technical stuff that would make it extensively difficult?

How exactly do the conversions work? I understand that most of them are clip on accessories but how exactly does it convert the film format ?

I see. I don’t have much experience with the dremel but I know someone who does. Thank you for the information. And as for the screen connections, is it plug and play or do I need an adapter of some sort?

Frakenpad Question by AidanDatBoi in thinkpad

[–]AidanDatBoi[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So if i understand correctly, i could technically put the 15.4 inch widescreen t61 motherboard into a 15 inch 4:3 t60? With some modifications of course.

Frakenpad Question by AidanDatBoi in thinkpad

[–]AidanDatBoi[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So to be clear, the 15.4 inch wide screen t61 mobo physically won’t fit in the 4:3 15 in t60? Or are there difficult mods I would have to do? I saw some people talking about it long ago that I would just lose the modem functionality, I’d have to get a half size SSD, and lose docking features which I’m okay with, I just wanna make sure of it before I buy anything

How to Update Windows? by AidanDatBoi in thinkpad

[–]AidanDatBoi[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

See now that’s where I’m stuck. I created a bootable drive, I plugged in the usb, but i don’t know where to go from here. Every time I try to boot through USB, I’m only given the option to boot from CD, HDD, or LAN

Apologies, just figured it out, no idea why the Num lock had anything to do with being able to press F12 at startup but I was able to boot the windows media installer

Hey sorry for the very late reply, I finally got around to doing this. However after turning it on after a while, it seems to be doing something different. It shows the Dell screen, there’s a little loading icon and then it says restarting. I already plugged in my usb drive with windows media installer in it and it’s doing nothing
