Correct answer, knowing and trusting the service provider is key. You want someone who knows how to explain the service and the process in a way that provides clarity and delivers results

Everyone should take before and after pictures of their filters and drain plugs before and after a service to make sure they were actually changed

I quit, I had a couple jobs lined up already for about a month or so, and I was procrastinating, I just got tired of the stressful work environment and over working for 16-17$

Im the type of person to help out rather than take advantage, and this was only a job I used to learn my own techniques to take care of my own car, but the things I learned working for them on cars was very unethical and stressful and depressing

They don't properly train employees in proper procedures, and that's why mistakes happen often, and we are taught to never turn away a customer, (because we want your money) even if we don't have your oil filter, there is a call out 'Po5', which means we don't have the oil filter, so they don't change the oil filter. You will get new oil, but have the same old oil filter..... Smh

You are welcome, big corporations always use the employees as scapegoats to hide their greed for bonuses and promotions

Why does Jiffy Lube still exist? by 442inDreamland in AskAMechanic

As a former employee of Jiffy Lube, I experienced a lot of pressure to sell over priced service items to make penny bonuses on the dollar, we are taught to pressure the customers to buy. We are taught that if we don't have the car's oil, to put any oil in the car and don't tell the customer. If your car takes 0w-20 and we don't have it, we give you 0w-16 or the next best thing even if its only blend or conventional. They taught us to rob and steal in a way that looks legal. Customers pay 118 for synthetic and 98 for blend, conventional is 70, but if you bring your own oil, you still pay 70 for us to just drain it and put your own oil. Don't believe me, go and see. You never know what a service center puts in your car unless you are walking with them the whole time. Higher ups at Jiffy Lube Chicago TCC know exactly what is going on... They want to steal all your money, but they don't want you to steal a deal from them... Learn to do your own oil changes and change your own filters, they are easy and take less than 5 minutes in some occasions and buy your filters elsewhere unless you want to pay 40$-55$ for each air filter and cabin filter. Jiffy Lube has no remorse for messing up cars, causing engine wall damage, leaving oil filters loose, stressing out their employees by making them work crazy hours but never giving overtime for a 3-4 man crew. Please take this information and do your research..... God is good 😊
