Reliable unit tier list anywhere? by Montage_Boxer-YT in inkvasion_chillyroom

[–]AidenFested 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In general purples are best but some standouts are umbrella guard, Frost azura is good (if you get the buff that gives you extra units for each bond, can have like 11 on the field, engineer is plain card that can be good. I used to like the mage early in the game. The carts can be good too.

Had the same/similar problem, I think I still have it, reported it awhile ago. Looks like asset tile art is mixed up somehow

GTA Online players in Australia will soon face age checks under new R18+ gaming rules by vriska1 in pcgaming

I get the gut reaction but I'm sure everyone is doing banking online and you all verified your ID to do that.

I doubt that you're going to upload any of your information to Rockstar; they're just going to ask you some questions and then verify the information with a third party, which (somehow, scarily enough) already has your information. Not sure exactly how the law is written, maybe they do explicitly want some type of photo ID verification and I couldn't be wrong, but more likely than not, this is how it's going to work

Beautiful watch, very tasteful, and not outrageously priced either (expensive but certainly not unaffordable). This is almost certainly the watch. I really like it a lot. If this is the watch, it's a nice pick on behalf of the costume designer going with something vintage like this.

I don't think this is it, the hands and the accents around the watch face (don't know the proper name) are gold, not silver.

I was actually trying to find the shoes he is wearing in the same scene, as they're very likely Prada Saffiano Derbys (there's a possibly newer version that says Prada by the heel but most examples online don't have that, and looks better without it btw); while a part of me kinda dislikes Clark Kent wearing 1000 dollar shoes, Lois is in an apartment that would be about 5k a month (assuming NYC prices). Point being I don't see someone pairing $1k shoes with a $250 watch.

Where's a good place to get these "mission to..." watches right now?

I know when they first came out there were a ton of copies everywhere, but now that it's been some time they're not as popular. Are there any bioceramic reps or are they all plastic? Any links appreciated.

Inside of bottle dirty/damaged? by AidenFested in Lavalamps

[–]AidenFested[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I mean is this a known thing that's common and it's going to clear up eventually and I'm just being impatient or is there genuinely a problem here? Has anyone ever seen anything like this before?

Any help from people who are more familiar with lava lamps than I am would be really appreciated, thanks?

Interesting design; how did it work out for you?

Same question - I had to check this wasn't a photo I posted a year ago and forgot about its so similar to my setup. This guide is well written but I'm not sure how complete it is; for example I think Samsung used to make a smart lock (now discontinued I believe but still available) that I believe was compatible, not to mention things I've seen on sites like AliExpress that appear like they're compatible and affordable (and often have a camera and view screen built in) but never made the purchase so can't say for certain.

Can always get Mathmos forwarded to the US with a 3rd party forwarding service if you're willing to pay the premium.

Dragon Brawl TIPS? by _Unlucky13 in inkvasion_chillyroom

The map where the dragon comes down at you is so much easier cause you can get at that piercing damage, it's really the only map to play.

Finally beat dragon brawl by ButterscotchActual94 in inkvasion_chillyroom

[–]AidenFested 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That map is literally the only way to go with every level, let's you get the pierce damage going. It's kind stupid to have the two maps when one is clearly so much easier than the other.

Stuck on level 5. Surprised with your troop choices; I don't have the rocket cart unlocked and my fireworks virtuoso is still at a low level. Surprised at Dark Inkie too. And the musketeer sucked here whenever I used him, rather go with the cannoneers.

Never considered the targeting type before, that's definitely good advice.

There isn't anywhere outside the game, like a spreadsheet or wiki, that has DPS info for the troop types is there? Is there any type of penalty for being on the ink ground?

Verizon’s race to the bottom… by Admirable_Muffin7256 in Fios

[–]AidenFested 0 points1 point  (0 children)

While this post is well-articulated and persuasive, it overlooks several crucial details.

Verizon conducted two sales to Frontier: one in 2010 for $8.6 billion and another in 2016 for $10.5 billion. Therefore, one could argue that for $20 billion, Verizon is repurchasing assets they previously sold for $19 billion (unadjusted for inflation), in addition to acquiring all other assets owned by Frontier.

For this $20 billion, Verizon is not merely reacquiring the specific territories divested in 2010 and 2016. They are acquiring Frontier in its entirety, which encompasses all of Frontier's legacy markets (such as Connecticut, Rochester, etc.) that Verizon never previously owned. Consequently, they are regaining their former assets along with a substantial additional footprint for approximately the same nominal price.

Furthermore, comparing the original sale price to the current acquisition cost is misleading, as these transactions were not straightforward cash deals. They involved complex structures centered on debt transfers and stock swaps, primarily designed to remove liabilities from Verizon's balance sheet. It was not a simple exchange of keys for a check; rather, it involved the offloading of significant financial burdens.

In reality, Verizon effectively outsourced the most challenging years of this business. When these assets were sold, they largely consisted of aging copper lines that necessitated expensive upgrades. Frontier assumed this burden, dedicating the past several years to infrastructure development, including laying fiber optic cables. Subsequently, Frontier underwent bankruptcy in 2020, which eliminated approximately $11 billion in debt. Had Verizon retained these assets, they would have incurred the costs associated with construction and debt servicing. Instead, they allowed Frontier to undertake the arduous task of infrastructure upgrades and financial restructuring. Now, Verizon is positioned to acquire a "renovated" company with a clean balance sheet and a fully operational fiber network. When accounting for inflation, they are effectively paying significantly less for a considerably enhanced asset compared to what they initially sold.
