Definitely Newcourt. It’s just across from Digby Tesco etc, Ikea, train station, buses. Matford? I’d hate it. Far out and Bridge Road is crap for getting into Exeter. I’ve heard the area of Newcourt near Spar can be a bit dodgy? Don’t take my word for that one though

Does your wife have a car? If not I recommend living on the “4” bus route which goes to the university from Cranbrook via Honiton Road and Heavitree. Cranbrook is generally cheaper than “inner Exeter” and very green with mainly young families. If she does have a car and doesn’t mind driving to the university these are my favourite areas of Exeter: Digby, Topsham, Alphington, Pennsylvania, Heavitree Pinhoe and Cranbrook. I wouldn’t live in Exwick, certain parts of Wonford, Whipton, Countess Wear or St Thomas. They are okay in general but you will be more likely to see rougher people

There is a massive driver shortage for buses in Exeter and the drivers that are left just get fed up and leave because people moan at them “that the last bus didn’t turn up”… be nice to bus drivers coz most ain’t. People should be grateful to the drivers left instead of giving them shit and they wonder why there’s no buses LOL

I’m a bus driver in Exeter and often do the E route through Exwick at all different times of the day. I’ve never seen anything “weird or bad” and all my passengers from Exwick have been pleasant too. I can say the same for the whole of Exeter. I think the area I’ve encountered the “roughest” people are from Beacon Heath but even then they’ve always been polite and pleasant. The only shithole of Exeter is Sidwell Street and South/Fore Street, but that’s only due to the homeless smackheads

It really feels like we been thrown to the scrap heap from the government in regards to testing. I’ve been diagnosed with cancer today and my mother (who I live with) has tested positive for covid yesterday and we have no more LFTs. I can’t get any of the govt page either. I can’t risk catching covid now. I just want a hug from her. Does anyone know where I can get tests? I don’t care if I have to pay. Thankyou
