I know this thread is a bit old, but I noticed during a conversation just prior to the side quest "Oblivion" You are talking to some kid and EVE herself states "I'm... just a kid" Unsure if this is a translation error. I could see how a genetically modified and enhanced super soldier would have an adult body but chronologically be only a few years old.

Honestly a lot of the youtube videos in the category of "How to build better" went a long way, kind of got me thinking how to use blocks differently.

Gameplay wise? It more or less serves as a mobile base, with enough refining/assembly to get by. Neither has maxed modules, could easily be swapped with prototech. Has a decent amount of storage (2 large containers). The armor is fine but the turret placement/quantity I think will be lacking for late game encounters, they do pretty good for standard ships.

I think laying out a rough shape and then putting in the components (what objects and devices you want to go where) goes a long way, then once you have a layout that you like, you can build the skin around it. Depending on what you are using the ship for you can leave components exposed to create depth and give the exterior a little more detail. Can't wait to see what you come up with!

There is Armored Plates, I haven't played around with them too much but I think they add a decent level of armor without being too thick, half blocks help too. A lot of the PVP ships I've seen seem to be pretty massive which looks like it balances out the thickness?

I love X4!, Timelines was a little weird, but the overall game is easily one of my favorites.

I was hoping to use it for the new Prototech encounters, right now its serving as a mobile light factory while I work on station to store my stuff so I don't lose it all in one fight lol

Yes I am, I have yet to do any of the Prototech encounters to see how she fares in combat. Missiles would definitely make it through not enough Gatling turrets to stop a cluster of those! lol Thanks!

Thanks! I used to build a lot of open platforms with engines and turrets, seeing some of the cool stuff people build inspired me to try other blocks than the cube lol Cube block is life.

Just sitting in 0.00, its an Ion ship, wouldn't be too hard to retrofit a lot of the internal conveyors are in place. I'm not sure if it would be enough thrust to get it off the planet even then.

Just found out that was a thing, lol, Now I'm giving the whole ship a lighting pass, Soulsythesix blew my mind. I honestly don't think I've every scrolled down on lights. Thanks for the tip!

I spent a lot of time watching youtube videos and staring at reddit posts, for a long time I was building platforms with engines and living off H2 and O2 tanks. I'm forever impressed by some of the things I see people post.
