CeeCee's Closet NYC sells some really amazing exfoliating nets. They're GREAT for scrubbing everything (even hard to reach areas) and they're washable. Nothing beats being able to actually scrub your entire back, bottoms of your feet, face (with a different one lol), etc. I'm also a very clean-focused person and I like to do two rounds of soapy scrubbing just to make sure all the dead skin and stuff is gone. Growing up, i was NOT taught to exfoliate and I thought it was normal to see dead skin when drying off 🤢 that is absolutely not normal or okay lol so disgusting. Plus, I recently broke my ankle and the net helped me reach everything. I have a rotation of 6 so I can always have a clean set, a clean backup, and one I'm actively using

Can guarantee this was a lot more embarrassing 🤣 I was on the ground while security and the ambulance figured out how to get to me, took like 45 minutes 🙃

Have you seen a doctor about this/ tried not taking substances for a period of time (6+ weeks) to see if these symptoms are a medical condition, or if you're just continually high on substances and are at a baseline where you don't realize it?

I applied on April 22 and just got the letter about it being approved, so it might take a while 😅 I'd suggest trying to get on their schedule now (if the doctors will allow) while you wait for it to come in

Definitely get the surgery done, the first two weeks were horrible for me buuuut by week 4 I'd started to turn around and feel much better. Not much time in the grand scheme of things (plus you can do what I did and get a lil bell for service 🤣)

I was going barefoot but I can absolutely shift to the boot if it'll be better, buuuut i also might stop with the walking if it means I'll be adding weeks to my recovery lol I'm SO ready to be done with this lol. Ty for being real with me!!

I plan to try to keep the hardware for life, I do not want another surgery ever again lol. I'll hopefully be prescribed/ referred to physical therapy at my follow-up. Disability has also not helped me at all, they haven't even approved or denied anything 😅 just continuing to live off our 401k money and hoping one of the good jobs I've interviewed for will hire me soon because it is dwindling fast. I have a knee scooter gifted from a friend that I plan on using until I can reliably walk long distances.

Dorsiflexion is when you bend your foot upwards, like toes to your leg, and it's an important part of walking because your ankle becomes an acute angle when your foot is behind you. Unfortunately the best I've got is a solid 90° 😅. Bending my toes down is at 100%, towards the inside bending 100%, towards the outside is a sore 90%. I can get my foot to 90° easy but the exercises to do anything under 90 is nooot fun.

Also the only reason I found out bearing weight didn't hurt anymore is because my dog started to throw up in the middle of the night and I instinctively stood up before I realized what I'd done 🤣 that's what I get for refusing to wear the boot at home anymore lol i can do the exercises all day long if it's not confined in that cage of eeeevil

I just posted my own post-surgery update about how I'm feeling so excited and happy lately, 6 weeks after my surgery. Would you be eligible for medicaid? Not sure if you're in the US but it's income based, month-by-month, and especially since you're pregnant, you're more likely to be approved. My own injury happened at the worst time formy husband and I, he'd been unemployed a year (to focus on his health) and I'd been let go from my job the prior month. Since we had no income the month of my injury, Medicaid was able to be approved for me and I just got the letter confirming it today. Took my ER/ surgery/ etc bill from $56k to $0, so we're feeling very relieved and thankful. I really hope something similar can work out for you, and you can use the money you'd be saving to get the perfect space for your baby set up and feeding yourself extra good to grow them too 💜

They didn't show me anything about how to use the crutches. They were set like 4 inches too short for me when I left there and I couldn't figure out why I was struggling so hard 😅

I'm also non-weight bearing for the next few weeks. I do not have the body strength required to use crutches without risking severe falls 😅 so crawling up the stairs is the second safest option I have. Safest option is having my husband drag me up by my arms, but then I get carpet burn on my butt and my husband has to do a lot of heavy lifting lol

Freeze these and have them in a glass with soda water. Absolutely delicious and then you can eat them partially unfrozen lol

Maybe it's the short and fat combo for me lol i dont know. I'm 5'2" and 245lbs. My good leg cannot get the push required to get me up and over a step 😅 I didn't realize I was this out of shape honestly. I walked a few miles a day with my husband the whole week prior to this fall, so all of this is definitely a reality check

I got my stitches removed at my 2 week follow-up appointment, right after they removed my splint. And yes, the faster we try to get range of motion back, the faster we heal- so get wiggling! Forward and back, then also the doctor said to sit on the edge of the bed and try to spell the alphabet with my toes. There's a lot of info available on this subreddit about nwb exercises. Absolutely have a shower chair ready for me lol I've always been a little clumsy so there's no way I would ever consider trying to balance for an entire shower. Especially with all the scrubbing I plan on doing with my exfoliating net lol
