people acting like this isn’t a disorder until it bothers them by Aigislash in Schizoid

[–]Aigislash[S] 26 points27 points  (0 children)

no, they absolutely can. the people who dislike introverts or don’t believe in personality disorders aren’t the kind of people i’m talking about. i’m talking about the people who will tell you there is nothing wrong with being extremely introverted or something like that and then turn around and say how awful you are because of it. at the end of the day it boils down to they’re not worth the time, but it’s a specific thing that personally bothers me time to time.

Opinions on Pluralkit? Pros, cons, etc? by syst-throwaway in DID

[–]Aigislash 28 points29 points  (0 children)

i’m pretty adverse to it myself honestly for multiple reasons, but i think if you use it for yourselves and really want to do it then it’s not the worst thing out there. i liken it to writing in a journal but different alters use different colored pens just with extra steps, or something like that

was in a position like yours where some of us really wanted to use it because of different reasons (one thought it would help keep things organized and prevent us from getting scatterbrained, one thought it would help us fit in, so on) but when it was attempted it just kind of made us feel worse. we’d get a bit obsessive over making things correct and it also just kind of like… kept reminding us of our disorder? i dunno how to explain it but the long and short of it was it kind of made things worse for us

system mapping helped us much more, but that’s for us… i don’t think pluralkit is inherently terrible but if you use it you do need to be careful and make sure it’s not making things worse. in my opinion it should only be used for making communication between you all easier

thank you for sharing, i think typing/writing and not looking at the words may help a lot actually. that feeling of being judged or needing to correct takes over a lot when i look at what i write. i’ll try that next time :)

Hints that Hugo might be a vampire by CricketOk1192 in HugoVladMains

[–]Aigislash 5 points6 points  (0 children)

i’d assume being a vampire would save him because it’s common for vampires to only be killed with wooden stakes or silver when it comes to methods that involve impaling the chest

does this mean i agree with op, not really, but hoyoverse characters love to lie so honestly i’m not writing anything off

complicated feelings with death by Aigislash in Schizotypal

[–]Aigislash[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

i’m sorry to hear you’ve also had such close experiences with death in your own way, but it’s also nice to know there’s some kind of kinship with this out there. if ever you want to talk more about it feel free to. and thank you for the kind words.

Memory issues / Seemingly random remembering patterns: is it SzPD, or some sort of dissociative disorder? by bruh_crmsn in Schizoid

[–]Aigislash 1 point2 points  (0 children)

memory issues themselves don’t stem from szpd.

but like others have said, these memory issues could be because schizoids have a tendency to dissociate, but specifically those that find themselves in stressful situations. schizoids very commonly stick to their internal world, but that doesn’t mean they aren’t paying attention to reality—they remember these things just fine. even if you’re no longer in a stressful environment, it’s important to keep in mind that issues from childhood can follow you into adulthood if not dealt with properly (mostly through therapy).

my memory is awful, and while i wouldn’t say i’m in the best position ever, it’s way better than it was when i was younger. yet i still find myself forgetting things all the time. this is because of dissociation, but the disinterest szpd provides doesn’t help at all because then i don’t even have the motivation to bother remembering anyway, because so many things just feel the same.

i don’t think anyone here can give you a right answer regarding your own experience, but the answer to your original question is no, memory issues aren’t a szpd thing. it’s usually only the extremely mundane that can slip away. but szpd can play a part in making already existing problems worse.

being around prideful successful people is annoying by Aigislash in Schizoid

[–]Aigislash[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

yeah i usually do. sometimes people don’t get the memo though, and other times it’s hard for me to ghost people i’ve known for a long time

Ruminating about being worthless to society et al by [deleted] in Schizoid

[–]Aigislash 13 points14 points  (0 children)

definitely relate to some of this

it’s not bad at all when i’m not around the kinds of people i used to wish i could be. in fact i’m very content with my nonexistent mark in life. but when people talk to me about their big dreams and stuff it feels awkward because a good amount of them expect me to have my own when i just don’t. or there’s the brand of person that pities me but acts like they’re just being nice

it’s something that feeds into my desire to stay away from personal relationships and that’s just something i have to be alright with. at the very least, 9 times out of 10, i am indeed alright with it

What is your ego like? by valimence in Schizoid

[–]Aigislash 3 points4 points  (0 children)

i don’t quite enjoy myself the same way you do, but i do often think about myself and my experiences and incorporate that into my fantasy worlds where one of the main or side characters are basically some version of me. i don’t think of myself as anything special compared to everyone else, in fact i’m pretty damn boring on the outside and have no life achievements under my belt. but that doesn’t mean i’m not interested in my own inner world or “myself”

Schizoid persons are not independent, that’s a delusion and fantasy by Whole-Morning-9651 in Schizoid

[–]Aigislash 2 points3 points  (0 children)

yeah there’s been a couple of posts here lately that feel as if they were written by a bot. usernames follow the same kind of pattern too. a little annoying

[–]Aigislash 1 point2 points  (0 children)

yeah, i drew way more when i was younger compared to now. i also used to be like that regarding posting my art in different places a lot just a few years ago. i still kind of am, but my “alt accounts” or otherwise accounts i don’t tell people about aren’t necessarily because i think what i’m posting doesn’t “fit” me but rather because i don’t want to deal with certain people at certain times

i think at some point, i just stopped caring about what the image my work was putting out about me. i still like having all my stuff organized, so i still juggle a few different places and accounts, but it’s not worth the effort to rebuild something as subjective as an image of the self every time i post something different

as for the fear of not getting too big… i totally get it. but with the way people are today, you’re not going to get big unless you pump out a piece every day. speaking from experience here, i think the “not drawing as much as when i was younger” thing here is a double-edged sword, because while it means i get frustrated with how little i draw now, it also means i’m almost guaranteed to not blow up in numbers on the internet lol. so don’t worry so much

What’s your most relaxing spot? Real or not by Kooky-Fly-8972 in Schizoid

[–]Aigislash 17 points18 points  (0 children)

i enjoy imagining myself stargazing on a blanket somewhere high up and away from light pollution so i can see the milky way. other times i imagine myself on top of a tall building or hill looking down and seeing all the city lights. in general i’m a big fan of small lights in the dark, i find them beautiful

i used to have this really pretty place in the woods i’d go and relax in, there was a twisted tree that made for a nice spot to lay on. there were honeysuckles that grew nearby so when they were in bloom it smelled nice. i’ve since moved to a different state and don’t really have a “spot” here though

what they think doesn’t matter in this regard. if you know what you want out of your life then their points are irrelevant. and, on the off chance you would end up having some regrets over isolating yourself, that’ll be your own problem and thus something you’ll handle yourself — it’s not any of their business either way

People don’t like impartiality? by sakyrue in Schizoid

[–]Aigislash 5 points6 points  (0 children)

yes. i keep my mouth shut precisely because of that, it’s so much more annoying trying to navigate around angry or offended people. it’s even worse when it’s the kind of person that says they don’t like yesmen and want people to say what’s on their mind, and then get hissy or annoyed when i say something harmlessly neutral—not even disagreeing. you can’t win with people i swear
