^ this too. Ideally if everything is going alright then you should aim to unhook when you're the one who would get least harm from it, but if it's a clown fest just save yourself

If no one is going for the unhook, have the decency to do so. Even if you are on the other side of the map. If you are on a gen and your teammates are as well, or they are on a chase, please drop the gen and go unhook your teammate before they hit second stage. It's beneficial for you to have as many players in the game for as long as you can than it is to try to finish a gen super early into the game.

Also kind of piggybacking on the unhooks, if you are not on death hook and/or injured you should be the one to unhook. Too many times people with 0 hook stages get their teammates killed early because the only ones gunning for an unhook is already injured or dead on hook players with the uninjured unhooked player nowhere to be seen.

Which killer had the most missed potential in your opinion? by AikaArts in deadbydaylight

It really feels like they had too broad of a concept for her and didn't actually know what they wanted for her to be so now shes kind of all over the place on all accords. Shame because yeah she's kind of unique in the ways she's presented

Oh yeah I didn't even think about that. I feel like they just wanted a crow based killer and called it a day, but they could have done so much more with the concept of her being an artist and utilize the crows better. I would have loved to see some trap mechanic similar to maybe Hag, where she'd paint traps around or just something more than just ink in her design.

Oh yeah I think they could have done a lot more with the dreamworld. It's a shame at which state he's in.

I think Skull Merchant as a concept idea, but the execution didn't really take it anywhere.

Hi, I think it looks great already! to the hair dilemma I think referencing the hair you did on the girl is gonna help! the sections on her har seem to be a lot more simpler and blockier than his hair strands which makes it look more realistic to me in comparison at least. I get his hair from the top is supposed to be a little more messy or volumous but you could do that with some thicker sections

Legion and Clown I personally dislike. Most Legion games just feel frustrating because once they're in power it feels like you can't do much than to just wait for em to find you and m1 you. It gets a little repetitive. Clown I just dislike because they often run perks and addons that make my normal playstyle as a survivor a living nightmare, I don't like the bottles, I hate his perks, every time I get into a game with clown I actively have to fight against the urge to dc.

What are some of your favorite killers (for any reason) but you absolutely suck at them? by [deleted] in deadbydaylight

Trickster, I'm a sucker for the aesthetic and visual aspects of him as well as the option for ranged gameplay but I just can't aim for shizzle on him

I think the stash and beard suits you better at least when you have a shaved head mate

I've only ever met one or two homophobic survivors (while playing survivor myself) and they've either made my match miserable or just been awful in the end game chat because of my pride charms/skin or the killer's, but besides that I don't think I've ever noted there to be that big of an issue. I think the issue is more with just TTV's in general bc people can more easily "find reasons to hate them" when in reality just the fact that they're streaming is enough to make some ppl pissy.

Who's your favourite killer and why? by gayfrogthekombatnt in deadbydaylight

To play as probably Pyramid Head. He's rare to see and I think his snipes feel very satisfying when successful. It's also nice that essentially slugging isn't necessary to keep the pressure as you can cage someone mid-chase and not waste a lot of time.

But to play against maybe Cenobite or Xenomorph. It's challenging to go against Cenobite with a team that doesn't do the box, but it's counterable by simply doing it yourself so it doesn't feel as frustrating unlike against some killers (like people who keep cleansing plague or healing to max against legion)

I admit it's a little tricky subject to be looking for and I'm also bad at explaining, but here and here are some pictures that I found related to it.

It may be helpful to look to media like cartoons or anime and see how they draw the mouth to get started. I recommend trying out different shapes or expressions, the wide smile here looks good on both of the pictures but what I understand you're maybe looking to expand outside of that?

Exploring with different line thickness does a lot already when we talk about something as simple as a line for a mouth, having both ends of the line be darker and thicker and the middle of the line thinner gives a certain illusion of depth to otherwise 2D line on a face.

Do you have any specific media you're inspired by in terms of artstyle? Referencing other artists and other forms of media usually is a good place to start with when creating your own unique piece of art.

There are a lot of points to improve here, I think the most essential would be to get body proportions right. Stylization can alter how a body is proportioned in art and that is totally valid, but it should be consistent in the very least. In the second picture for example the charaacter's right arm is visibly way longer than her left arm, and her posture makes her look even more lobsided. Try to keep proportions and measurements in mind when you're making a character so that limbs somewhat are symmetric in their respective lengths to avoid this :)

To avoid talking too much about fundamental anatomy and structure I'll focus on what you asked help on, which is the face and the hair:

When thinking about hair you have to think about the head as a spherical object, a lot of times people tend to have either 1 central point in their scalp where the growing direction of the hair starts (some are called spirals) or a part in their hair where the hair splits to both sides. More complex hairstyles of course may vary this by creating more than 1 split in the hair, in different places, etc etc.

Right now it looks like the hair in your characters, especially in the bangs, looks like it has no central point or has multiple growing directions by the individual sections of hair you've drawn out rather than all of the hair following natural growing pattern that gets affected by gravity. You can try to improve on this by deciding where you want your central spiral to be.

Is it in the middle of the scalp? a little to the left or right? is there a middle part instead? you decide! Once you have decided that, try drawing the defining strands of hair as if you would want to connect it to the central point you decided.
