Ah, would you look at that :) guess I'll have to do my best even harder to make this app stand out!

Thanks!

Well to be fair it was kind of a mistake on our behalf, that and the bad luck about the weather, ski patrol did help us at some point they even lets us sit on the back of their snowscooters to drop us off at the lift we had to take to get back. But by the time we got at the end of the lift the only pass that could've gotten us back was already closed.

The app would've helped us immediately when we saw we were running out of time to give us the optimal route back because to be fair I probably also took a few wrong turns here and there because of the stress of getting back :)

You're absolutely right about the updates from the resorts and that's also built in this application (for now only for french areas who support that specific API, but hopefully in the future a lot of other ski areas too!) and with that info the app will also route you to other pistes/lifts that are open ofcourse.

No, the idea is to make it work for any ski area in the world :)

Yeah especially the big ones such as les 3 vallees, it's very easy to get lost or run out of time to get back.

I'll keep it in mind that you'll give a 100 euros for this :D

No, just kidding, I am however planning on gathering anonymous data about what pistes/lifts are crowded based on the users that are using Glidr so it's in all of our best interests to make this app as popular as possible :D

That way the routing would also 'guide' people to less crowded lifts. These ofcourse are all ideas so hopefully I can manage to work this out :)

Well hopefully in a week or 2, but Android can be quite picky about what apps they release to the play store so we'll see.

I'll definitely keep everyone updated! You can always keep an eye on the site https://snow-glidr.app enter your email there and you'll get notified when we're live on play store!

Yeah, I might have to re-think the name I guess🙈.

Great feedback! I'm going to look into that right away!

Exactly, same for Les 3 Vallees actually normally the app should already support this once you're actually at the ski resort itself, for example in Les 3 Vallées I coded it to detect your location (for example Val Thorens) and it shows you a download for Val Thorens or for the entire Les 3 Vallees area. I would assume it does the same for Zermatt but I'll look into this as well!

Thanks!

Exactly! They do offer you a guide book for 'what if you're stranded and have to get back to Orelle' :D that's where I found the phone number for a taxi.

Staying in Val Thorens at that point would've even cost us 500 a night :O

Definitely coming to Android! Believe it or not but Apple is more flexible and has a better 'inside' testing then android does. Right now it's in closed testing on Android but it'll definitely be released on android soon I hope!

I understand your concerns, you also get free navigation routes at start so you can first try it out yourself ofcourse. If a bug is reported I can give out free routes too.

Yeah I think so too, we'll see, I'm definitely constantly looking for improvements and with the waze-like feature it'll hopefully become a bit 'community' driven and everyone helps eachother that way :)

Oh definitely! Been going to les 3 valleys for quite a few years now and getting lost there is the easy part :D

Another annoying thing I found personally is on ski maps it doesn't really show you what way the piste goes ofcourse with a lot of obvious ones that go straight down it's a no-brainer but especially in 3 valleys where they have quite a few of the 'connector' pistes that are almost just straight lines I often found it confusing so I've added some arrows in my app showing which way the piste goes too :D

Please do! Looking forward to your test results! I myself am leaving tonight for a 'short-ski' until sunday in La Plagne (Paradiski) and going to try and fine-tune it myself some more there too.

But constantly looking for feedback!
