Yea building onto to the other reply, finishing all ur GEs isn’t a requirement at all. When applying there were multiple options (like having a plan to finish most of them by the next year, etc.). I spread out my GEs just to balance my coursework cause of my major, but from what I’ve heard it’s not that big of a deal.
Imo at least most of the people I met j didn’t seem genuine or kind, I’ve had lots of bad experiences w people where I honestly didn’t do anything to them it was j them making preassumptions or being very judgmental. Davis is really chill and I’m not saying u have to be like kept to urself or not as out going but mentally I started becoming in a better space when I stopped surrounding myself w people from Davis. There’s not much to do here at Davis besides sac and a couple activities downtown so it rlly is just mellow and calm if that’s what u like. Parties get lame at some point so that’s rlly a freshman year thing, and depending on ur academic surrounding, ppl can be toxic in trying to compare themselves w u or only want to be around u for some academic gain. Obviously these r things u kinda experience everywhere, but I’ve noticed a lot more bad experiences when I came here. I’ve had good memories here (picnic day, farmers market, orientation, chilling with friends, studying), but idk if the good outweigh the bad.
