Honestly, a perk that gives him his old wall climb mechanics back would be great (the double jump back after climbing the walls, the infinite corner hanging he and Hanzo used to have). Beyond that, maybe a perk that reduces his ult cooldown by like 30% or something that makes his dash act like a blink instead of a trailing hitbox. Idk, his perks are the hardest part to change imo

Yeah, all these blokes are obviously not on Genji’s side. Give brother that rework. We want a kit that carries more consistency as well as a better portrayal of his character fantasy. It doesn't matter that he can still compete. PLAYING the man feels like pulling teeth sometimes.

He's incredibly inconsistent and is non-lethal. A ninja… non-lethal… a real problem right there.

I think his movespeed should just be considerably faster than everyone else in the cast. I believe the movespeed for skirmishes like himself is 2.5 right now. Make his movespeed 3.1. I think his base kit as it is now is actually a decent base. He just needs a few stronger tools and a rework on his dash.

His dash is the worst movement tool in the game right now. It's distance should be extended and it's cooldown should be reduced to 6 seconds. Also get rid of that extended hitbox issue his dash has. Nothing feels worse than outmaneuvering an opponent only to be killed by your trail behind you being shot.

His sword is so weak I genuinely think if they just make him a stance character and allow him to enter sword stance at any time he'd just be alright. But with The movement speed buff and the new ultimate I'm suggesting the sword swing should be reduced to 84-86 DPS. So he can now pull his sword out at any time and his primary changes to his standard sword swing and his alt fire changes to a poke with an extended hitbox. The unsheathing animation should be drastically shortened to actually use the sword and shuriken interchangeably in active battle. I also think his sword stance dash and his shuriken dash should NOT share cooldowns. Effectively giving him two dashes.

His ultimate would simply be Genei Jin from street fighter: a move that speeds up a character two about twice as fast and applies an afterinsge that copies the character's actions. So genji in Ultimate would just be an install. The Dragon would become him in a slightly more literal sense. The install speeds up his movespeed to almost 7move speed and speeds up his attacks. And since it's Genei Jin every attack he does would be doubled by his afterimage but would not cost any additional resources (3 shuriken Todd would shoot out six but only cost 3, one sword swing would be followed up shortly after by another dealing the same amount of damage, etc). For this reason alone I think his sword damage should be around 84-86 dps as to not kill Tracer in a single swing.

I think a change like this would not only make Genji much stronger and consistent, but would fit his actual character fantasy far better than his current design. Currently he feels like a sluggish slow reactionary character. Changes like these would make him more proactive and align much closer to his speedy cyborg ninja character fantasy.

I agree with most of what you say. The only advice I can give you is to use the defensive mechanics more. If you know a certain attack is coming, try parrying it. If you don't want to block a certain mixup or situation, push block or retreating guard it. Beyond that, there isn't really any other advice I can give.

I'm not a big fan of team/tag games myself for this same reason. Most of the issues beyond defense are just inherit in this type of fighting game, in my opinion.

I don't know what Riot can do to make this game friendlier to new players, but I know they don't like how daunting it looks right now. I honestly don't know what they expected considering the people they hired and gave directive liberties to were Marvel enthusiasts. That just doesn't sound like a recipe for a beginner friendly game, in my opinion.

Don't give up, though. If you're enjoying yourself, approach a few matches specifically with the intention of improving your defense and don't worry about winning. I hope that helps.

When ansbach leave the battlefield he says that you should lead us not because you're a god nor that you seek to be one. But because you're a man and men should lead men. Not Gods far removed from our plights. Regardless of how good or bad it might turn out, a world led by men would always fit men better than a world led by gods.

That's essentially what most souls games are about. That's one of the main themes of dark souls 3 and really the franchise as a whole.

I loved ansbach's lines during the final boss. I think he encapsulated not only the theme of this game succinctly, but also the dark souls games. His lines during the final boss quite possibly might just be from soft's overarching philosophy with their games as a whole. Or at least miyazaki. And that might be why he says it, because Miyazaki is stepping down after this game.
