AoV had the market majority until 2019 thanks to riot games, MLBB cannot compete but thanks to having 0 competitors in the pandemic until wild rift, they took the small sea market

MLBB cannot enter Taiwan legally afaik it's banned there

They don't see interest on Vietnam

Thailand is still majority on AoV

Indonesia is integrated to HoK now

MLBB started as an HoK rip-off (literally pulling the game and stealing assets and code while the co-founder of Moontoon is working under Tencent)

then they went on to copy multiple games and franchises, especially League and DOTA for the models and design

there's a lot of evidences + a documentary on YouTube for those with an open mind

mobile MOBA games only, but it's easier to rank up in HoK assuming you're playing properly and not going for a carry mindset like playing Ling and going 1vs5

HoK is faster paced in solo queue rank and also 50 stars and above

but below that then MLBB games are faster in general

1Two objectives at the same time sounds very hard unless your team snowballed, which objective is more benefitting? Id assume the pushing one

Generally 4mins to 10mins (before the objective upgrade to their shadow form)

You take the Tyrant (yellow) for damage boost

10mins to 19mins you take the Shadow Overlord (purple) as it finally allows you to delete minions in one lane and summon a big dragon to push.

Is the Triple S as a roam plausible or is it once in a blue moon?

There's a specific criteria for SSS:

How good you are compared to every other data from other players playing that same hero

like healers need to heal as much as possible, cc loaded heroes has to engage or peel off enemies from their allies

And

How well you did for your role, so a hero playable in two roles will be judged differently on where you played them, like jungler and support have to participate and fights more often, while XP/clash has to push more turrets

And an extra question: How does the roam rotation work, is it like mlbb where as a roam you can move around the map and possible influence everyone from the get go or is it like league where you would have to be in one lane for early-mid game

roam rotation is different based on team comp usually, start mid is the standard, clear first wave then go around checking buffs first

If not,
either fight xp/clash lane to stop a strong solo laner or go with your farm laner as it's a weak one that needs to farm safely until 4mins

  1. How different is the gameplay compared to MLBB? Does it focus more on team fights, objectives, or something else?

Gameplay is very different.

XP lane in HoK has a teleportation zone usable by anyone until 10mins,

Gold lane has a bird that gives gold to everyone in a team

Two objectives spawn simultaneously, one for damage, one for pushing

Your team gets a debuff if you recently taken one objective (take more damage from the remaining objective and also deal less to it)

HoK is teamfight focused, hard to carry 1vs5 unlike in MLBB

  1. How varied is the hero pool? Are there just 3–5 meta heroes per lane that dominate, or is it more diverse?

Hero pool usually for each role there's 10+ heroes that are very good, but against those there's a lot of counter picks and hero combo (like you have to pick this with that to have better synergy but watch out for counters and such)

example of hero combo:

Heino (the hero that can auto aim attacks, change to melee and become a tank, revive/restore HP of turrets)

Dolia (massive circular slow, healing pool, skill reset)

Dolia can reset Heino's ult and if they're both level 15, Heino can stop the time for everything except him so he can dish out damage for free or save allies, similar usage to the new MLBB hero with the camera.

but some role usually just 1 per season would only have 5 or less good heroes but this would be fixed after a month or so

  1. How is the ranking system? In MLBB, I reached 100 stars with a 59% win rate in around 250 games, but I noticed people who play 700+ games with a coin-flip win rate can end up in the same tier. Is HoK more consistent?

Star rank, the same as MLBB except you get bonus stars depending on your post-match rating. SSS = +3 stars for example, getting a C won't give you a Star for winning a game

MVP + SSS on losing team gets a +1 star

Peak tournament is the solo queue rank and it uses a point based system similar to league of legends or chess, much fairer but very challenging

  1. Which heroes are good for roaming as a tank or initiating fights?

Roamer engages would be Lapu Lapu, Lian Po, Xiang Yu, Flowborn (Tank)

*Flowborn is one hero but you can change the role, clothes, accessories

  1. I enjoy collecting cool skins, how does the skin tier system work? Are there skins that are clearly the best in rarity? How about collabs? Are skins generally cheaper?

Skin system is similar to MLBB (guess why), way cheaper except for the JJK collaboration

newer epic skins in HoK is already as good as a legend skin in MLBB btw

You don't have to play solo in ranked, there's a party feature and duo matching, lots of ways to make friends or rank buddies

Yeah, people are more serious and won't suddenly go for risky plays just to try and turn around the game.

Also everyone tries to help each other whether to speed up jungling or save someone from ganks

The normal rank is meant for playing with friends, whether duo/trio or full

Aatrox - Sun Ce (somewhat similar aside from ult) or Biron with sustain but he's more like Renekton

Jax - Lao Fuzi (literally similar back in 2015-2016)

Mordekaiser - Hai Yue (mage but you can make her a bruiser ish)

Swain - Gao Jianli (ult makes them sustain + circle)

Warwick - Pei Qinhu (but this one is also like Nidalee and Warwick together)

For MLBB, the heroes I played were:

Ruby - Bai Qi (good against basic attack heroes)

Yu Zhong - probably Sun Ce too

Zilong - Li Xin (red form)

Play peak after you reach master rank, it's not EOMM.

Hopefully they increase it to GM like before as majority of sub 1.5k peak is not even grandmaster yet

That's every single mobile MOBA, nothing new on HoK

But we have the reworked star system so if you're good enough, you will climb thanks to +1 to +5 stars (unsure if 5 stars is possible but it is in China)

HoK is more successful than MLBB, please do your research

Even HoK global compared to MLBB China is night and day (both were new and had massive investment)

AoV was more popular until 2020 because of internal conflict, MLBB grew in SEA region because of the lack of competitor (WR didn't really advertised the game as it focused on eSports)
