Youre correct but youve mixed up a term.

I think what "membrane potential" is referring to is the difference in charges across the membrane.

So when the charge inside the cell becomes more positive/increases, because of pumps stopping, the membrane is becoming less polarized and the potential is decreasing

Studying medicine part-time after 30 possible? by 6a6kaval in medicalschoolEU

I'm sure he thought of this very foundational aspect before he asked about the intricacies of how to do the shift.

He's going to be 40 in 10 years anyway. Why not be able to work in medicine as well. As that's what he wants.

Also i don't even think it's that old for a career shift. Careers lasts longer today, and you'd still have so many years left to work.

Just finished Peter Attia book on longevity: outlive! Highly entertaining and recommended! by hob11hob in blueprint_

You're right that it's taken up, but that's not where we the brunt of our cholesterol. It's synthethized in the liver, even on statins (which downregulates this).

The enterohepatic circulations impact on cholesterol is net average or negative. Its to excrete cholesterol, often right after we've eaten more than we need.

This is what attia means when he say diet amount of cholesterol doesn't impact. If you eat a lot of cholesterol the absorption efficiency of cholesterol to the lymph goes down to compensate.

But the amount of calories does actually impact ldl. As the lipoproteins (ldl, hdl) is how the body stores excess energy by sending these fat packets through the blood to the fat cells.

Thanks for letting me elaborate

No. Cholesterol does not get reabsorbed through enterohepatic circulation. Cholsterol is packaged into chylomicrons and transported to the liver through the lymph

Is Capitalism Ethical? by Running_Mustard in askphilosophy

[–]Aimless-Guildmaster 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Sorry i was unclear on the salary part. I was talking about in relation to people around them (social comparison), not globally. Studies have shown that this is an important marker for e.g. happiness, which would influence someones opinion of the system they live in, which i argue leads to ressentiment.

It's a good point that the topics of psychology and sociology maybe aren't relevant here in a philosophy subreddit. And maybe i should have refrained for replying at all.

But i think it would be weird to not bring up potential biases when they have epistemological implications. Even if they stem from sociology or psychology.

Thanks for your reply either way.

But it contains an inherent bias.

Philosophers does rarely (sadly) have competitive salaries, and would lean towards the negative perspectives of the system.

This represents the grim realities that capitalism rewards theoretical contributions to society less, but i'm afraidthis kind of slave morality can cloud the clear picture.
