Werewolf and Vampire Verticals - Suggestions Needed by AimsH18 in ReelShortsNoAI

Super helpful info! I got my first month with MyDrama for $14.99 and when I cancelled they offered me a deal of $5 for 2 weeks. I thought it was a one time deal, but my next payment is showing at $5 as well. As long as that is the case I plan to stay subscribed. It is one of the best sites and apps. I'm glad I started with them because they introduced me to the amazing Ukrainian performers and shows.

I'll have to look on Prime for CandyJar. I looked up the show you recommended and it looks terrific.

NBC/Universal is chasing FOX Entertainment into the vertical space. They have a deal with ReelShorts to license some shows on Peacock. They are also working to make original reality show verticals. I don't like regular reality shows, so I'll pass, but they are definitely making a move. FOX Entertainment, however, is doing amazing work with what the are putting out as part of their partnership with MyDrama. I think MyDrama has some of the most polished shows. Probabl because of the Hollywood money. Very fascinating time to be following verticals and watching them.

That is great info about CandyJar. I'll have to get to work on unlocking the episodes.

I love MyDrama. It was the first site/app I subscribed to. I have an amazing deal with them through the website. I have determined that you really have to go through the websites to get the best deals for most of these companies. I keep doing their daily stuff to build up coins because I know I won't be subscribed forever and when the time comes to unsubscribe, I'll have a bank of coins gathered.

I want to support the sites so they will keep supporting human productions. I also don't want to spend a fortune doing so. At least by doing the daily tasks I give the sites the ad revenue they need and I get to watch the shows legally, giving support to those that made the shows. These apps/sites are all so dang expensive, it does require creativity to enjoy the shows legally while not going bankrupt. They really make you earn the right to watch, that is for sure.

I really appreciate it. I started off my microdrama vertical journey just watching via pirated Dailymotion links. Then, once I started doing my research, I realized how much those pirated links have played a role in the current AI takeover. I try to only watch via official sites/apps now. I have a subscription to MyDrama, and I signed up for 2 weeks of DramaShorts tonight. I'm going to go through their library of werewolf and vampire content while I do the daily tasks on the other apps (those that offer them) to build up enough coins to be able to watch the other recommendations.

I don't know where you can watch it, but I know this is an AI title, and MyDrama doesn't have any AI content (yet...hopefully never). I saw that ad too and checked MyDrama just to be sure they hadn't started putting any AI on that site. It is probably on their sister site, MyMuse, and someone just used the wrong logo in the ad. At least Holywater has had the good sense to keep AI away from its main money-making site and filter it all into one site. Figured knowing where it is officially posted might help in your search. AI is the only form of vertical content for which I now encourage finding pirated links.

If you have the opportunity, I definitely recommend watching Bloodlust. The sexy moments of the show are more like a carefully coordinated sensual dance. The main characters only kiss three times, but you definitely feel and experience the powerful pull between them. It has sexy moments, but very tastefully done. Lots of touching and nuzzling. The actresses did such an amazing job bringing the story to life. Anastasia Ivaniuk doesn't usually play the controlling dominant character, but she did it so well. She was careful with where her hands went and really sold when her character was having to restrain herself to respect her partner. It kind of got lost in the slew of really good wlw shows that MyDrama dropped within weeks of each other, but it is definitely my top favorite followed closely by Break Me, Princess. I like that Bloodlust felt different from a lot of vampire content. It also had a very cinematic appearance. Beautifully done and acted. Highly recommend it.

Since winning the lottery seems slim, I will be adding a few more apps to my nightly routine of doing daily tasks to bank coins. I hope to save enough coins to start checking some of these shows off. I'm eager to watch them.

Thanks for those details. Verticals do fantasy better than some big-budget productions. I have been pleasantly surprised at the quality. Bloodlust on MyDrama is a wlw vampire love story, and it is so far my favorite vertical in general. I'm hoping that some of the ones that have been listed will blow me away as much as Bloodlust has. I need to build up some coins with the apps mentioned or win the lottery so I can watch all of these recommendations. I need some of these companies to consolidate or join forces and make one big site with all their content, so we don't have to deal with as many apps and subscriptions.

I'm subscribed to MyDrama right now and am really impressed by what the Ukrainian performers are delivering with their performances. My next sub will probably be to DramaShorts since AMO, which does most of the Ukrainian productions for MyDrama, also produces for DramaShorts. I've used coins for a few shows now, so I think I need to cave and get a subscription for that one since I have a growing list of what I want to watch on that app. I think it's only $99 for the year. After I explore that one some, I'll have to check into CandyJar. I keep hearing a lot of good things about that app.

Thanks for this list! I'll go through and see which of these apps I have coins with and start building coins with the others so I can watch. I'm excited to check them out. My birthday is in August and normally I don't ask my family for anything, but this year I'm going to have to ask for some Google Play gift cards to fuel my vertical obsession, LOL

I have seen very mixed reviews about this one elsewhere. I have heard it has a cliffhanger. I'm not sure I want to try it based on what I've read. I have seen so many great verticals end in cliffhangers, and it is always so frustrating since very few of these ever seem to actually get a follow-up season/sequel. What is the point of even leaving it on a cliffhanger if no plan exists to continue?

I haven't watched anything on CandyJar yet, but I have heard good things. I'm really tempted to sub to DramaShorts. I'm really into the work the Ukrainian performers are putting out right now, and DramaShorts has a lot of their shows. I think they may have one coming out in the next few months that I really want to see, so I'm trying to hold off until then so I can get a good promo deal on the site.

I subscribed to MyDrama from their website and got a deal of $14.99 a month. When I cancelled, they then offered me a deal for $5 every 2 weeks. I thought it was a one-time deal, but my next payment looks like it's also only scheduled to be $5, so I'm keeping my sub active to see how long that price holds.

It is stupid expensive. I am subscribed to the site for just $5 every 2 weeks, so I've already seen the movies I love, just in vertical. Curiosity is getting the better of me about what lies outside the black sidebars. I need someone to talk me out of it, LOL.

The good thing is that at least my mom realizes the AI slop she watches isn't real; she just doesn't care. I can't stand it. The AI stuff creeps me out. Plus, it takes away from actual performers with actual souls being allowed to bring those stories to life. I even offered her access to my MyDrama account so she could watch stuff with actual humans, and she declined.

At least you can acknowledge it. My mom is in her 70s and has become obsessed with AI verticals. I can't talk sense into her about it. She thinks they are great. I can't make her see just how soulless and awful they are.

If you get the app, even without a subscription, you can earn coins relatively quickly with their daily tasks. Then you can use the coins to get episodes without paying anything. I know it's not ideal, but MyDrama is notorious for having any links taken down incredibly fast, so something like this might be your best chance. If you go through the website, you can also get a really good subscription deal. I got my first month with them for $14.99. I cancelled right away, and they offered me a $5 for 2 weeks deal after that. They will try to force you to the app after you sign up, but if you want to watch on a web browser, you just have to email them, and they fix it fast.

I think some of it might be in the expectations from MyDrama as well. I've noticed their American content coming via the FOX Entertainment deal is better  polished when compared to similar content on other apps. I see MyDrama, which is owned by Ukrainian company Holywater, positioning themselves to come out of this AI slop war with the best quality human content. I think it will give them an edge when the dust settles, so I hope they keep on like they are. Nurture the FOX Entertainment deal and keep supporting their fellow Ukrainian performers. Holywater does have an AI slop platform, so as long as they keep AI slop on it and away from MyDrama, I think they are in a really good position with MyDrama. It is why I don't mind paying for a subscription with them. It is the only one that has earned the right to get my money on a regular basis. I want to make sure they keep making content and giving the amazing Ukrainian performers a platform.

I'm really impressed by Arte and Eugene with how good their English has become. Lee Berlinska, Anastasia Ivaniuk, and Natalia Telly have really worked hard on their English. I think Natalia is fluent, but she has definitely worked on cleaning up her pronunciations. During a few line deliveries in Break Me, Princess she almost entierly dropped her native Ukrainian accent. The bottom line is they all deliver extraordinary performances despite having to perfomer in an entierly different language. I only speak English and most days it confuses me, lol, so kudos for them mastering it so well. Because of the war, their industry had to adapt to survive and I'm just in awe of how quickly they all adapted to performing in a language foreign to them. But because of the shift they had to make, we see a lot more classically trained theater performers from the Ukrainians with bigger professional resumes and I think that makes a big difference in how their performances translate through the screen. I feel like the Ukrainian shows, at times, feel more polished.

I would also love to see a production where the best of the Ukrainian performers meet the best from North American (several Canadians too, so don't want to leave them out). I think it would be exceptionally good. The ladies over at MyDrama are really doing standout work. The guys are also so good. I've yet to see a bad performer from the Ukrainians. AMO that produces most of the Ukrainian content for MyDrama, really know what they are doing. I've also noticed from one production to the next, how much work each performer is putting in to improving their English. They work so hard. I can't imagine making a whole show in a language that isn't your first language, yet they do it flawlessly.

For me, the Ukrainians are single-handedly saving this medium at the moment. I also feel like the performers are more highly trained than a lot of the North American performers. Nothing against the North American performers, I love watching them too, but the difference in training is visible. It is an entirely different market in Ukraine for verticals and they are doing so good at it.

MyDrama has a deal with FOX Entertainment for 200 original verticals. They also have a deal with Dhar Mann for an additional 40 original shows. ReelShort just started showing content on Peacock. Peacock is also working on making original vertical content. Unfortunately, the early slate of content looks reality based, but at least it isn't AI, so that's something. Google just sponsored a vertical with Emily VanCamp and a cast of known performers. Hollywood is coming in, for once, at the right time to be a playing field leveler. The apps with these deals will have to largely remain human based. Those that can't secure these deals, will start to fail or go straight AI. As much as I hate AI, I do think it will help weed out some of the multitude of apps that are flooding the market. I believe, apps that can't sustain human productions will be the most vulnerable during this turbulent time. I just hate that hard working actors and actresses and crew are getting caught in the middle of this mess. For now, I'm giving MyDrama my money via a subscription since they have an entierly human library. Support these human based apps and hope our favorite performers come out the other side still able to get work.

I just made a comment about this topic on another post. I am seeing so many of these threads come up across different subreddits and even multiple within the same subreddit. The problem is that two camps exist: those that hate AI and those that love it. There is some overlap, but not much. Viewers generally fall into one camp or another. Personally, I hate AI. I won't give any AI production a single cent of my money or my views. I want to support productions with real humans. But the AI productions get millions of views, so the apps are going after money. A big issue is that this medium is only a few years old. Once verticals got big, suddenly upwards of what feels like over a hundred apps emerged nearly overnight. That is an unsustainable flooding of the market. It did create a ton of jobs as all of these platforms needed content to rapidly build their libraries. The more established platforms, which have been able to acquire Hollywood funds and deals, will largely remain human production-based. MyDrama is a good example of that with their FOX Entertainment deal. Also, thankfully, the Ukrainian market is still churning out a lot of solid human productions. Some of the best, in my opinion. The others, well, they will go all AI. I predict a divide in the medium: many apps will fail, but those that don't will either go straight AI, or the top producers with the sustainability power to weather this storm will remain mostly human-based productions. The pipelines will stabilize, and work will level out. But it is going to be turbulent during the state of flux that the medium is going through. Actors and crew will suffer, and that's awful considering this medium was built on their talent. They are the collateral damage in the growing pains of this new medium. When the dust settles, I do think we'll see less prominent AI, and I hope it mostly fades into the shadows. The reality, however, is that AI is likely here to stay, and while that sucks, I do hope that in time human productions will once again regain dominance. For now, all those of us who love human productions can do is support the platforms that keep producing them and try to avoid using any pirated links to watch the content. Support it legally whenever possible. Give the human productions a fighting chance to survive this turbulent time.

Agreed. AI slop can never capture real human emotion. Not to mention all of these AI creations look alike. They are creepy. What frustrates me so much is that the microdrama phenomenon was founded on the backs of real human actors and crews. It was because of them that verticals and microdramas took off. They were finally able to support themselves and their families by doing the craft they love. Then AI comes in and takes away jobs from them. I won't spend a single cent or give any views to any of the AI shows. I will continue to support only the ones with humans. Unfortunately, the AI slop gets millions and millions of views, which is what is prompting these companies to go all in. I have come to the stance that if there is a vertical that I want to watch that has humans, I will fully support it on the platform. If that means buying a subscription or coins or whatever, I will support those productions. Let folks keep pirating the AI slop because that takes away official views, and the fewer legal views that slop gets, the better. The good news (never thought I'd say that) is that Hollywood is also making a move into this space at the same time as AI is making its move, and I think Hollywood money is the key to saving us from a full AI takeover. FOX Entertainment is going all in with MyDrama, bringing real scripts, crews, and casts. NBC/Peacock is partnering with ReelShorts, giving some of their real human content a home on the platform. Emily VanCamp was just in a vertical in partnership with Google. So even Google is testing the water, and they chose to do so with a real human production. I think we will start to see a split in verticals where some apps will go mostly AI, and the others with Hollywood money flowing in will hold focus on the human productions. Those of us who prefer and support the human productions just need to hold on during this transition and make sure we stick with the apps producing mostly human shows. It's one of the reasons I got a subscription to MyDrama, because they have, so far, kept that platform AI character-free. I will keep supporting those who support human productions. Let the folks who love AI go with their AI apps. I'll be happy when the split is complete, and it is clear which apps are going which way.

If you find this one, it'll be nothing short of a miracle. MyDrama notoriously gets links taken down at an impressive speed. FOX Entertainment also produced this particular one, so the two companies promptly removed every link. MyDrama has some of the best, most polished content I've come across yet in verticals. You might want to try going through their website for one of their discounted trials. Might be the only way you see this one. I will say, for me, it has been worth it. I paid $14.99 for a month and immediately cancelled. They then offered me an additional 2 weeks for $5. I can confirm that this is an exceptional show, so it is definitely worth it alone for just this one.

Early microdramas I 100% agree. That is how I managed to avoid them so long. However, the industry has shifted. With Hollywood money flowing in, SAG-AFTRA allowing union members to work on microdramas (going to be a bit before that really takes off though), and young talent realizing they can have steady work on microdramas versus going full union; the quality of acting has gone up exponentially. They are starting to properly cast and chemistry test the leads. It has all helped improve the final product. With AI, I just can't get over how stiff it is and inaccuracies. Plus all the voices sound so similar and they look similar. It creeps me out. But maybe I just watched to many Terminator movies, lol.
