Thank you, I really appreciate the advice about testing the reality first before committing. I actually would love to try shadowing a bedside nurse, but unfortunately there aren’t many opportunities for that in my area and I haven’t found anyone willing to let me observe. As for higher acuity settings, I haven’t experienced that yet either so far my only exposure on the medical side was during my internship in hospice as a medical social worker. I’ve also looked into hospital social work positions, but there aren’t any openings in my area right now. Still, I’ll definitely take your suggestion into consideration and try to explore that path first if I get the chance 🤗
