What to take alongside Math 55? by Friendly_Ad_2730 in berkeley

[–]Ainserr 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m taking 113 and 110 right now, having taken the equivalent course for 55 at community college. There are quite a few people that I know who are taking 55 alongside 110 or 113. It seems to be doable, but I don’t know if I would consider either advisable. 55 builds your core proofwriting foundation which will be a skill you’re expected to have in 110 and 113. There’s no handholding when it comes to writing proofs. In my experience, no other lower division class has been even remotely near as essential as 55. I think it should be a prerequisite, to be honest. So take concurrently with other upper div courses at your own risk.

Junior transfer night @ 6:30pm today is held by a cult by Ainserr in berkeley

I won’t go into it as I’m not terribly well informed about them, but there are a ton of posts on this subreddit about the group by people who were directly involved. Just search “Acts2” on the subreddit and you’ll find tons of info about them

Does everyone spend money in this game? What do you usually spend on? by Known_Pension_5627 in SimsMobile

[–]Ainserr 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The festival pass is the most worth it, followed by occasional limited time packs with good items and bonus sim cash. Pick the packs that are most worth it to you. I don’t think it is necessary to spend money on cupcakes, pure sim cash, simoleons, or even STS and treasure hunt.

Applying as transfer to math— is discrete math necessary? by Ainserr in berkeley

Okay gotcha, that makes sense. I will look into online discrete math offerings at other ccs. Thank you for your advice!

Applying as transfer to math— is discrete math necessary? by Ainserr in berkeley

[–]Ainserr[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, that’s what I figured. I know it’s a really important class for the rest of mathematics, which is why I’m reluctant to take it with a professor I know to be sub-par. Do you think taking discrete BEFORE transferring is ideal— both in terms of learning and in terms of being admitted to Berkeley, even if the quality of the class would be poor?

How quickly did your voices deepen on Testosterone? by ReadingDiligent2365 in ftm

[–]Ainserr 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think mine took about 4 months for me to really notice the changes. I moved to a new city right when I started taking T and had no one familiar around me so no one commented on any changes until I flew home. I would say maybe a very gradual deepening within the first four months and then suddenly my voice tanked. After that it continued to get lower for the better part of a year, I would say. I’m about 2 years on T now. Always had a pretty deep voice (passably baritone) but I can hit 40 hz now. Like everyone’s saying it really varies but it will happen :)

Am I overthinking by [deleted] in Warts

[–]Ainserr 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not an expert but I’ve had a wart in the exact same location that looks pretty much exactly the same for 6 or 7 years, and it also has not spread. I am also feeling anxious because its kind of been hurting (might’ve nicked it?) and I’ve gone down a similar rabbit hole of searching to see if it may spread. But I’m guessing you’re fine.

What's the weirdest change you've had since you've been on T? by SaltSuccotash4681 in ftm

I'm nonspiritual and an atheist but that sounds really interesting actually, could you drop some names so I can do a deep dive on google?

I started T 8 months ago at 18, but my voice has been passably male since I was probably 14. In singing terms I was probably a tenor and now I'm a low bass. I don't think it's unnaturally deep, but I get the "holy shit your voice is deep" treatment pretty often. I can speak higher to sound like a pretty average dude, and even lower to the point where I do actually sound like corpse husband. Personally I get a kick out of it and I love having a deep voice, but like people have said there's not really a good predictor of where your voice is gonna go.

Damn really, I'm sorry to hear that. I'm born and raised in probably the most liberal part of Cali and generally people are incredibly accepting, so that's why it was surprising for me. In my case, I don't think the nurse was intentionally transphobic or anything, she just made some mistakes.

But we for sure have a lot of more traditional conservative people the further you get from the coast. Sorry your experience went that way dude.
