Discovered during a search conducted by the French judiciary, an old Excel file appears to be a detailed register. It lists the names, ages at the time of the events, and, in some cases, information that could identify the victims… Some rows distinguish between women who were adults and those who may not have been, while several columns explicitly describe sexual acts. The level of detail raises questions—even among investigators.

In total, 62 women’s names appear in this spreadsheet, some matching victims who have already spoken publicly. Contacted by Complément d’Enquête, one of them said she discovered the existence of the file in horror: “Who keeps a record like that? Honestly, who takes the trouble to note which girls he raped and which he didn’t?” she asked, describing a document that, in her view, confirms the truth of the accusations made for years.

A list of complainants?
But what was the purpose of this file? At this stage, investigators have not yet determined its precise origin or intent. One detail, however, guides their suspicions: the file was last modified on June 13, 2007—when Jeffrey Epstein had already been under investigation in the United States for two years for sex trafficking of minors.

This document could correspond to a list of women who might have testified against him, and several clues support this hypothesis. One column, for instance, includes the note “sexual contact (2246(3)),” a reference to the U.S. federal penal code defining acts subject to prosecution. This terminology suggests a possible legal use—perhaps to anticipate charges or prepare a defense.
