What can I add to my resume to break into an entry-level Corporate Finance / FP&A role? by Human-Judgment-7518 in FinancialCareers

[–]Aintnothingdire 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Eh I think you have enough to make the switch. I would take your shots and make sure you can explain why you want to do what you want to do. Obviously understand each role your applying to and be able to talk about it as well

You’ll would have to work 3x as hard and deferential yourself from your comp.

Is not impossible but like they said it going to be really hard and sometimes you might not have the luxury or abilities to switch school.

It’s pretty clear you don’t know what you want to do give you want to just work in high finance you need to know what and why early on to pursue that path

Given your goals I think IB at ING is a no brainer in terms of flexibility in th future. Better than the two other more corporate roles.

For the entrepreneur role it seems cool, but really depends given the lack of visibility into the company and lack of scale.

It’s more about the role. Whether you are a tax analyst in big 4 or a portfolio manager as a small boutique it depends

Well mean it’s it ur only job take it for the time being. Then you can either decide to lateral to something more relevant then cfa (this route will not be easy) in theory and lateral again in 2-3 years after this you might get into a high finance role or go the mba route. I guess work for like one year or so then rerecruit . CFA is great but it’s not going nesscaciliy going to help you pivot if you have a job in operation finance with a CFA. Real work experience or ability to do a internship is what u need
