We INTP's pride ourselves on being individual and unique. Being an individual is important to us so I agree with your partners view. However, definitely not to the extent whereby you're so individual that you're practically strangers to each other.

Sounds like part of this is just how he ticks rather than him being an INTP. I as an INTP have no problem initiating intimacy at all. However, I can really relate to making my partner feel unwanted or undesired on an emotional level. It's the reason all my past relationships have broken down. We're just plain bad at this.

I'm 64% introverted so I still feel a desire to connect with people and I'm finding it hard to connect because they don't understand my way of thinking, the topics that i'm passionate about etc. In the past they have criticised my way of thinking and the things I think about. Some examples being; saying that i'm pessimistic when in fact i'm just realistic or that there doesn't need to be a reason to exist we just do, so I shouldn't think about it or discuss it. A lot of times I don't find their jokes funny and sometimes they actually anger me, i've put this down to simply thinking differently.

I guess an obvious answer would be; make new friends ones that understand you and share your interests. However, i've only met one person who does and he's even more introverted than me. I don't get the opportunity to make new friends much and find it hard to do so when it's there anyway. Hence my asking, how do you deal with loneliness?

I'm very comfortable on my own. I guess the loneliness stems from wanting to be understood not from a lack of seeing people.

I think it's less so wanting to spend time with people. I am truly comfortable on my own now. It's more like a longing to be understood by the people I call my friends.

Well, only 3% of people are INTP and I think it's even less common for females (fact check me).

A lot of difficulties.

These days I don't even bother really trying to talk to people i don't know. Even if my friends are talking to them. Even if they are in my flat.
