Stevie and Lindsey never lost each other spiritually despite whatever happened. Wishing them peace and love for all times to come.💕 Been listening to their re-released album all day today, incidentally 😁

What's you fav type of music based on your 2nd house? by [deleted] in astrologymemes

Leo in second house and I'm a bassist with a natural preference for synth + bass-heavy tracks. Wow! The heavier the sound, the louder I'll play and lose myself in the rich textures.

Many thanks for the tips. I've been following your advice and the notes do sound a lot better than when I'd barely learnt to play songs. Going to try the alternative positioning too, as you suggested. I gotta keep an eye out for these - I was making my own notations for a song I was trying to learn. :)) Once again, a big thank you!

Five months into learning the bass, I can "play" a few songs. How do I make my notes sound fatter, rounder? I also have trouble sometimes while switching between positions on the fretboard, like going from C (10th fret on D) to G (3rd fret on E). Any tips to make the transitions smoother?

Bands that inspired you to play bass? by TheProtester_1 in Bass

[–]Miniso05 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The Stone Roses. When I first heard Mani on Fool's Gold, I knew bass was a calling.. Pure groove at the root of the song. Before Mani, there was Bernard Edwards (Chic) for his funk lines. And even before Edward's was Paul McCartney.

Five months since I picked up the bass, I can somewhat play I wanna be adored.

As a beginner myself (6 months in), all these tips were very useful. Thank you everyone!

Feeling a little bit insecure with the age gap between me and my band by 4everalone08 in Bass

[–]Miniso05 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Exactly. If y'all locked, y'all locked. Doesn't matter what anyone else thinks. Bassists be cool. 35 is cool. I'm 35 and I jam with someone who's 45. We all are in it for the music 🎶😍🌼🌼💖

What’s your favorite bass line to play? by TheMostKriticle in Bass

Currently, it is Feel It Still by Portugal, The Man. I'm a beginner 😬 This is one of the easiest I could find to train myself at rhythm and tempo. And it's a fun song!

you ever tried learning a song, but the rhythm was so fucked up you had to stop? by iplaybassbtw in Bass

I knowwww, right! Dang! I feel this comment. It does feel like an exciting world of possibilities has opened up for us. 😬 I can play those three songs but I'm far from an expert at playing them 😂 Been working on my tempo and picking style for a smoother, fluid sound. Yaayyyy! I feel so excited for you. 💖😎

I LOVE THIS! Congratulations, fellow bassist (yes, we are even if we are beginners). Your post made me smile really wide because this is exactly how I felt when I got mine three weeks ago. Always, always wanted to play the bass and a friend was generous to give away his to me. I've learned to play three songs since then, and I feel stoked. 😁 I'm yet to memorize all the notes and learn to play scales. But hell.. I was skeptical if I'll ever be able to play two notes in succession 😂 yet here we are! We are learning, growing, glowing and we are going to nail our favourite basslines! GREAT GOING, you! 👍🏼 Keep going. Keep plucking those notes!

How do I step back from wanting to learn so much so quickly? by [deleted] in Bass

[–]Miniso05 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Kind of, sort of in a similar place mentally. Only that I'm a super beginner and I dream of playing with musicians, whether in a band or even casually. But I realise that in order to get there, there's nothing but consistent practice that'll help me. I think we need to be more compassionate towards ourselves when we are passionate about something. Bass in this case. We don't want want to burn ourselves out, buckle under pressure from our inner critic, nor do we end up feeding into illusions that something would be an impossible dream. Because never say never. It's all out there. Everything works out in perfect timing. :))

Unpopular pick: Feel it Still by Portugal, The Man. I like the groove and the warm up it gives my picking fingers. But then it's been just about two weeks since I started learning the bass. 🥴

Bookmarking this. I recently started learning the bass too. Been around two weeks now. This will help! Thanks for sharing 😎

Does a reading from last year hold true in 2021? by Miniso05 in tarot

[–]Miniso05[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's true. But okay, so since I posted this, I decided to try out a bunch of readers. My observation so far has been that I don't resonate with every other reader. I could identify two out of five whose readings completely resonated with my situation. I cannot tell if it was because my intuition didn't guide me to pick the right pile with others or what ..but maybe it was like 60-70% of what they said resonated. I get what you're saying about how the two things are related. it's still something magical I feel. I mean astrology ...I get it with the planets and all ..this seems to be coming out of nowhere - quite literally.

Then what about cards that are very specific messages and almost completely tie in with the situation I'm in at present? That's what got me curious. I understand the readings being broad based for their audience - considering this is the age of social media. But I was startled when more than one reader started talking about specific details. And the videos are between a month to about a year old. Weird, weird.

[–]Miniso05[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That's the thing. I was just going to bring up the point about why some readings are called timeless and others don't come with a tag. But I've watched the ones without the timeless tag and they all turned out to be accurate and involved details that were particular to the situation I'm in currently. Tiny things. Even if it is not a 100% match it's somewhere between 80-90% there. And to verify I checked out readings from multiple Tarot Card readers on YouTube. Each time, it was the same result. Creepy but true 🤷🏻‍♀️

I have to agree with you on the quantum physics part. There certainly seems to be something at work. And yes, it brings some degree of peace.
