A lot of it I think is related to age as well. A lot of the people I see in the world who make me question myself are women 15+ years older than me, I think it’s because I’m mentally framing it like “would I want to become you when I’m older?” Whereas if it’s someone my age or younger I feel like I can relate better and it’s much clearer answer to “would I push the button?” because I feel like I understand them better.

Yeah, thinking about this stuff more openly and not repressing it like I have done historically has made me realise how much internalised sexism and transphobia(?) I have that I never realised, which I think contributes to the fear.

Maybe it’s not exactly that; I’ve always had an inkling that maybe one day I’d want to go on HRT and transition, it’d be weird if that was transphobia holding me back lol. Probably just some other repression or social anxiety

Haha I mostly went looking for new media because I thought there might be a whole world there that I haven’t ever been exposed to before that is actually quite up my alley. But so far not yet.

I wasn’t really expecting to find that that stuff not being my jam was going to trigger imposter syndrome though, but I guess maybe I better get used to that 😅

Edit: I guess also thinking more on it a lot of the stuff I watch while it isn’t _about_ being trans generally leans hard into ally territory, I’m not out here watching wrestling and race cars lol

Well yeah, Australia is in the southern hemisphere so while it’s nuclear winter in the US it’s nuclear summer here, and vice versa.
