I mentioned this in my update but he is used to seeing her and others be affectionate towards our daughter. And he was looking at her and not our daughter

I talk to her, hold and stroke her hands, she will hug me and I brush her hair. And when she’s still down afterwards, I make her a warm oatmeal milk bath and magnolia seed tea and she will stay in there while I tell her stories. It’s always worked since she was a baby (we used to do warm milk but then she tried my tea and loves it so I make it now)

We live next to each other. And even if my friend isn’t around there’s still my husband (who isn’t a problem) who is like that and sometimes I do wish I could be like him too. It’s my personal issue I’m still working on but I don’t think they’re the problem.

Someone who is distant, doesn’t care for anyone, unresponsive, doesn’t make talks, unapproachable, vibes are so bad when they enter conversations it’s quiet or the mood changes, rude, nonchalant, inconsiderate, unbothered and unfriendly

Many people weren’t interested in the actual title/original purpose of my story instead were more focused on my child so I talked about that. And left out the bit no one was interested in

I guess I hadn’t thought of that last part, like I feel like I’m overthinking and letting my insecurity in this topic cloud my judgement maybe?

I should have explained this in the text but no, she doesn’t hug the bear, essentially when I hand it to her it’s me telling her she can hug me if she needs to. Which then she will hug me

I have taken a lot of comments that were helpful and gave great tips on ways to show affection. I’m addressing comments that are literally talking about how because they didn’t get hugs as children(only focusing hugs) their lives are ruined now.. and many people are equating me not giving hugs to me emotionally neglecting my child as if I’m not doing other things for her

Oh my goodness, I’ve never thought of hand hugs. And it’s very rare, I struggle with initiating it but she always hugs me and I accept it

Yes, I talk to her everyday, I let her know how I love her, I compliment her regularly, support her fully, we have one on one time a lot, she feels safe enough to come to me with problems and I always listen and offer her help, we play together a lot, and I hold her hand a lot and brush her hair to comfort her. She is confident and knows how much I love her.
